That’s his chosen pronoun.

Like many things that pertaining to God we have no way of understanding his nature without comparison. God’s nature is similar to that of a great father therefore he is a He.

Maybe because Jesus himself called him father. Good enough for me

God said let us make man in our image. He then created man, man was alone so he took a side (translated as rib) out of him and from it made woman. I believe that side (rib) was always there, that the female came from man but the Lord knew it had to he created different from man so it could be a pair to mate and bring forth life. So if woman and man are a complete man, maybe both male and female are made in the image of God having many of his attributes. So he identifies as a He, and He is the fullness of male and female. Also the “I AM”, God is not referred to as “he” much in the Old Testament (besides the psalms), but we see the Patriarchal system in full swing. God is refered to as father and king, male roles… In the New Testament there is more of those adjectives although, it makes sense in that respect Jesus who is fully human fully God is male “I am he”.. From our understanding of the trinity we have Jesus, God the father, and God the Holy Spirit (So that’s 2/3 of God being male). Although we also know that God is beyond description and imagination.. And at the end of the day do we really need to know? Does it really impact our relationship with God?

For the same reason He is Our Father. All the Angels have masculine names Jesus is The Son and so on that is what the Words of God say.

Another way to look at it is this. If God were a SHE, then SHE would have had to impregnate Joseph !

Elomhim is a masculine plural. The typical designated title rendered God in Scripture

The bible is the authoritative word of God and He is addressed in masculine form.

Do you have an issue with a masculine God? Adam was created in the image of God. Adam was a he.

Because the Bible – the inspired Word of God addresses God as He. Further it shows that God is our Father.

We sometimes tend to frame God in our own image, and traditionally, women weren’t taught literacy skills and, didn’t do the writing, etc.. Jesus tried His best to help with that. Yet Jesus was reported as praying to the Father so……
I’m hoping gender is not relevant in the Gody realm.

But both male and female are created in His image. Also, God does not have daughters, even female children of God are called sons. You may find a verse that lists sons and daughters, but either daughters was added or it’s an exception in the phrasing. For example, “For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.”

He has revealed Himself as a male in terms of the order in which He has established.
God made males to be the authority and leader. This is their function.
This is not a matter of equality or chauvinism but function and unlike the human dingbats that we are, in God’s economy, not everything a female is created to do, a male can do and visa versa. We all have specific roles but humans are wicked and rebellious and think that women can be Pastors or men should have babies.
Sin is ugly.

God presents Himself in Scripture in the masculine form and God entered Time in the form of a man.

Me personally, I try as much as refer to God without the use of He / She……what someone else does it’s their free will to do so.

The level of hypocrisy, disrespect and down right blaspheming the Holiness of the FATHER. Is not only scary, its pissing me off.
1. Let’s remember that to Add or Remove from the Word of God will REMOVE OUR NAMES FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE. So we need to be highly careful that we are not entertaining a spirit of confusion for “anecdotal truth”.

Can we move on from this argument? It’s pointless, has no salvatic value and honestly sexist in the fact that it implies God being called “HE” is wrong. Can we move on to something of actual meaning.

Because when Jesus prayed the model prayer, He said, “Our FATHER, who art in heaven…” A male is referred to as ‘he or him.’

He said He’s our father, not mother and the anthropological expression of this in the 3rd person is HE.
