Abraham said he experienced God directly.

Hindus gurus said they experienced God directly.

Abraham might’ve seen a Prophecy/miracle from something that claimed it was God.
Hindus gurus could say that God talked to them and told them that God himself doesn’t perform miracles/ Prophecies but makes beings with freewill who can do that and makes beings that can’t do that. So, from the Hindu perspective, Jesus dying and coming back has absolutely nothing to do with God any more than what a fly has to do with God.

We got a problem now.

Either both was from God, one was from God or neither as from God or God doesn’t exist.

With circular reasoning to the side, how do we determine which is objectively true?

Saying it is true because of the Bible is the same as saying the Hindu gurus are right because of the Vedas and God affirmed it directly. That’s called circular reasoning.

You’re right! The way I reason this is that Christianity has the only (or, from a relativistic point of view, the best) historicity to back itself up. If what Christ did is true, then it would follow that the Old Testament is true as well, right? Great question 🙂

I don’t understand why we are giving any weight to what Hindus say.

  3. Olivaire Watler says:

What we can safely conclude is that the god the Hindus are talking about is not the God whom Abraham knew.

All Faith religions including Humanism/Evolution have a story about the beginning. The one that fits History, Evidence and Science is the right one. Hint, there was a Global Flood. Check 3,000 odd articles written by Ph.D Scientists at Creation.com, try water gaps.

  5. Hildon Val Budtan says:

In the first place. Does the Hindu gurus believed-repent in the GODSON JESUS CHRIST? If not. then they are false prophets/ Antichrist mentioned in the GOD of the BIBLE.

  6. Michael Wesolek Sr. says:

Both were from God/god. Abraham dealt with the God of the Bible. The Hindus have many gods that have varying ideologies. Only the God of the bible is love eternal

  7. Kenjup Hanapiri Dsp says:

Hinduism has millions of gods I think. Christianity has only one God. Christianity and other religions cannot be compared as they are not same in their belief systems.

  8. Mbuchi Maina says:

Let’s get down to the details…saying you heard God or from Him doesn’t qualify the claim of divinity for the said divine being or beings in the case of Hinduism has to in short “prove themselves” through diverse supernatural interventions in human life over a long period of time. Abraham saying he heard God isn’t enough and neither is a guru saying so but if we look at historical facts do they back up that claim by Abraham? Did His God actually fulfill what Abraham claimed he was promised by Him? Is there proof of Israel as a nation? Is there proof of their bondage in Egypt? Is there proof of Israel’s conquest of Canaan? Does the so called Abrahamic covenant still work today? Why does the nation of Israel still revere the man Abraham and consider him a patriarch? Could they be deluded or is there generational preservation of Abraham’s pilgrimage through the years? Why then does Jesus who existed as a man who clearly performed supernatural acts refer to the aforementioned Abraham’s covenant with God?
Well….we can go on and on but that in my view is the only way to prove Abraham’s so called spiritual encounter with God, by putting His claim to an empirical and historical test…I don’t know much about Hinduism and their gurus or vedas to appeal for them but the same empirical and historical assessment must also be made of their claims…

What is your ?. Please start it plainly pls we don’t have all day to find it. Just ask your question and leave out the commentary. Or separate the two

  10. Maria Petrillo says:

The Bible is the only collection of writings with fulfilled prophecy. The events took place as they were predicted thousands of years before.

  11. Marsha Rae Hubbs Champ says:

If you are looking for “proof” you won’t find it. Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please G-d. Proof denies faith. I know because it experience Him. It stated with faith.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes from the word of God.
If you are faithful to read the Bible, the Holy Spirit is faithful to illuminate to your spirit the meaning of God’s word to you. It is all spiritual and supernatural. God is not to be reasoned with your own understanding but by His word alone. And at every step Satan works to keep you away from God’s truth revealed in His scripture.

  15. Joe Sharpe says:

Hinduism is false because of the multiplicity of contingent deities. These contingencies entail that these beings are not maximally great (in fact quite the opposite) and therefore not worthy of worship.

  16. Lyn Zee says:

Question, being asked respectfully, you say you are at peace (in your Hinduism beliefs) but you come to a Christian group attacking us claiming our God/Jesus is a fake/false God.
You didn’t come to seek Christian apologetics or seek an answer to your “question”. Instead you shut down every response and answer your own question with what you believe is truth.
Where is the pureness and peace in that?
Respectfully, what is your prerogative in this group?

Mbuchi Maina ‘s explanation was a great answer to your “question”.

when there is something Genuine, we must expect Counterfiets. a good lie is 90% truth and 10% of their perverted agendas.
why Christian God among all other gods is the True God? if you want to dabble into Philosophical arguement about this very question, please listen to Ravi Zacharias answer on this very question.

  18. Chris Meinken says:

One has historical proofs the other doesnt it’s only circular if u wont accept evidence

  19. Raymond Grignon says:

It begins to be an argument of value and quality. I admire many Hindu teachings, but the Scripture more wholly addresses the issues of man.

  20. Francis Jesulobatemi says:

Cleverly packaged to make it look like 2 people claiming to know God. My friend, Christianity is not based on one man’s claims.it is based on the whole Bible and the finished work of Christ. ok?

  21. Chris Meinken says:

Plus has anyone claimed to be equal with god and been executed and then rose from the dead as predicted as proof then give others miracle powers after death. Plus the bible predicted the coming of jesus at least a 1000yr before it happened and jesus was to be pure and holy unlike any other man this was proof he was god and incorruptible. Colossians 1:15 he is the image of the invisible god and he forgave us the punishment if our sin by taking it on him self and demands we turn from our useless ways to him and stop worshipping idols I beleive vedas say” what god is this like a lamb suffering ” there are no gods greater than YHWH why do u feed the statues in the temple god is not served w human hands he gives the rain and harvest himself.

  22. Godwin E Morka says:

This is Christian Apologetics, not Hindu apologetics. It is for true believers to defend their faith

  23. Richard Collamore says:

They speak to the god of this world, Satan

  24. Simon Yew says:

Interesting. However fallen angel can pose as God and give humanity false information and hope. Even demon possessed person can give prophesy in bible. This is why you must use archeology and historical evidence to proof the existence of your God. So far only God of the Bible proof Jesus’s divinity not from scripture, but from Chinese astronomy records. Chinese astronomy record the daily event in the sky. During the time of Jesus birth, Chinese saw a comet in the sky for more than 70days. The time Christ was crucified on the cross, Chinese recorded solar eclipse while stating all sin are put on one man and the man of heaven die. As well on third day Chinese astronomer record a rainbow hallow circling the sun. Tell me how do Chinese knew this when they are half way across the globe? This incident is global and was recorded in their records. If other God are true, there must be countless of record of their existence not connected to other faith or belief.

This is OK, God was speaking to Moses and Abraham direct, and God speak also direkt to all Born Again Believers also direct through the Holy Spirit to.

  26. Christian Huls says:

Which one predicted the future with detail and accuracy?

  27. John Carson says:

Looking for objective truth is the problem faced here. We need to deal first with “either/or” in this reasoning while recognizing many people in eastern thought uses “both/and”.

EITHER this can be true, OR that can be true.

    Versus…

BOTH this can be true, AND that can be true.

Bring the person to think first with “either/or” reasoning. Say something like, “EITHER Jesus payed for our sin-debt, OR we must pay for our own wrongdoings by way of karma. His death cannot BOTH be satisfactory payment for the sins of the world, AND karma be the way of payment. Only one can be true.”

If Jesus paid for the penalty of even just one sinner, then karma can in no way apply to that person. So if God sent Jesus to die for sin, then why would God require karma and endless reincarnations?

  28. Brothers N Borah says:

Your circular reasoning has limitations! First you need to know properly What Bible says, then need to know what Hindus(Buddhism,Taoism,Jainism) or Moslems believe.

  30. George Haithcock says:

  31. Stan Wosnicki says:

    False argumentation.
You are equating two beliefs systems as being equal.

  32. Glenn Gerlach says:

Not circular reasoning as the biblical text in it entirety includes over 40 different authors over a period of over 1500 years that corroborate the text and its prophecies perfectly. Hindu texts cannot claim a similar historicity.

  33. Jeremy Bickel says:

God has to call you. You can’t figure it out yourself. God knows who would go to Him out of a sincere heart if He did call them. God made each individual be born in the time and place that we have been born. God is sovereign, and He has set up everything to best serve Himself – and His will is that none should die; most simply wouldn’t, no matter the circumstances (“even if one were to rise from the dead”!).

  34. Jo Jo says:

Which Hindu god are we talking about? Cause they have like a million gods

  35. Kenjup Hanapiri Dsp says:

Why believing in a false belief system when the evidence is very clearly there to be seen?

  36. Mon V. Curameng says:

God is infinite that can perform infinite posibilities or interact or communicate to non spiritual intelligent beings in the material multi/universe. He can even do this in infinite dimensions/space or time. He is eternally present in ex. Human history..His interaction say 5000 B.C. is no different of say 2020 AD and to say God learnt after the 7020 years…our finitude restricts such cosmic understanding. (I’m agnostic but if we take the question in context…your problem is easily solved).

  37. Claire Jordin K says:

Hinduism is a pagan religion. From the Bible it’s very clearly that God is against paganism. So why would He communicate to people who follow a religion that has nothing to do with Him?

  38. Kenny Wong says:

Simple, Hindu holy book changes along time due to the lack of an authority and the process of canonization. Canonization is for a God to keep humans informed of the same info across history.
If the US government has a message for its citizens, it should convey the message to all the states, not just one or two of them. God cares about humans, that‘s why preaching the gospel to each and every nation is a human facing mission. Hinduism is local in India, either its god is not true or he doesn‘t care about you who doesn‘t live in India.

  39. Johnathon Morris says:

You determine objective truth by the standard of truth. The Word of God is the only standard of truth. Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life and nobody goes to the Father but through Him. You cannot escape the circular reasoning of those who truly believe in the true God through Jesus Christ. But all men are fallible so men cannot be the arbiters of objective truth. Proof: If the universe didn’t exist, and if men didn’t exist, it would be true that the universe wouldn’t exist, and that men wouldn’t exist, therefore truth remains the same for everyone, and truth is not dependent on ANYTHING inside or of the universe or dependent upon men. How can men know the truth that we may be certain? only by revelation from God. Men cannot be certain within themselves, proof: every man who is only a man has made mistakes in their reasoning (there is not one good, no not one but God!) All fall short. All have sinned and are guilty. If any claim they receive revelation from God, and their words do not reflect the Word of God, they are liars and are calling God a liar, but God is perfect and ALONE He is perfect! He is not a respector of persons nor is He the author of confusion or deceit, but out of man’s mouth these evils come!

  40. Marlene Ferguson says:

Hinduism is an absorbing religion. It started with a few local gods, and as it spread, it absorbed more and more gods, till there were 33 million (give or take!) of them. They added whatever was unique to each area, so it grew in stories and philosophies. They have sacred books like the vedas, but there are things that are untrue, like the moon is bigger than the sun.

When you look at the Bible, it has unity and progression. Jesus was first prophesied in Gen 3. Each event confirms God’s purpose and power. Prophecy of the a Messiah is embedded in so many books, from Job and the Psalms through the prophets to Malachi. Then, the NT fulfills the OT in the person of Jesus Christ.

Hinduism doesn’t have the kind of unity that the Bible does. Nor does it have one Saviour, Jesus who is the bith man and God.

I studied Hinduism and it doesn’t hold a candle to the Triune God, who planned for our sins and mistakes from the foundation of the universe. And Jesus who loved us so much he died on the cross for our sins!

  41. Keith Morris says:

Define ‘objective’. You start with subjective experience and move to a query of objectivity. Define your terms and decide what epistemological plane you want to operate on (ie rational, empirical, authority, etc.) because you are all over the place.

  42. Chad Turner says:

Hindu is another form of save yourself by works of piety, only you save yourself from continual reincarnation.
Humans love to try to save themselves. Humans love to say they reach out to a distant God far remote from our condition.
Christianity God reaches out to us who he has created and delivers us from the mess we have made things by his mercy and Grace and love for us.

  43. Jim Hill says:

If God can’t do miracles, how do they explain creation? By definition, a god that cannot do miracles is not God. We know evolution is false. We know the universe had a beginning. Christianity and the documents in the Bible are supported by science.

  44. Blake Supinger says:

You pray and ask God which is true. He will manifest through the spirit the truth.

  45. Ady Vancea says:

Logic disproves Hinduism and proves the necessary existence of a single God.
    Miracles are still happening today.
    Millions of People experienced them.

  46. Catherine Casey says:

You’ve never had an encounter with God because if you had by the very nature and power of God you’d be stripped of pride’s competitiveness, one-upmanship, and haughty superiority, which it is evident you are not.
