Atheists are people who don’t believe in God. But if Christans provided enough evidence, would they believe?

Evidence isn’t everything. Some people don’t want to submit to God regardless.

Depends. A question is if they want it to be true. Because if they say it is true, then they have to admit they are sinners, that their life is not their own, and that they need to change… I used to be athiest

Depends on why they are atheist. If they are truly confused but are willing to know the truth then there is hope. Actually I believe there is hope for all. C S Lewis said he was dragged kicking and screaming to the gates of heaven.

No. It’s God’s intervention that will make them believe. Just plant the seeds and God will work in His own time

Evidence isn’t enough alone. They have to want Christ and see their need for Him plus the HS has to convict and draw them. -
Good question. Even though they state they don’t believe, they do, read Roman’s Chapter 1. The Holy Spirit will draw them, but they get to make the choice.

God changes and turns hearts. You can provide all the facts in the world but if Holy Spirit doesn’t change the condition of your heart those facts will fall on deaf ears.

There is already sufficient evidence.

The evidence is what it is. It’s not like we can manufacture more of it. God has already given all the evidence He feels is sufficient. Now, I will say, Christians can do a much better job of presenting the evidence we do have.

Those that want to know the truth and are seeking it will find it, but those that want to reject it will also find a way to suppress the truth will do that too. We need to pray that those we share with are given eyes to see because if their hearts are hard, no matter what they are shown will not matter! Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead; those that were opposed to Him plotted to kill both Jesus and Lazarus. That could be true of us as well, it is possible that our hearts are hard, and we are not seeing what God is trying to show us as well.

As a former atheist there came a point when I sought truth. God answered that call. Not gonna lie I was not happy. I accepted the truth of God and prepared myself for what I thought would be a dreary existence. I had no idea how He would change my life. Seeking truth, or being willing to accept it, is key.

Most wouldn’t but some would. We are called to spread the word of Jesus regardless.

Plant the seed regardless. It’s Gods work before and after that.

We cannot defend an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God.
But we should defend the truth about God.

Those say they don’t believe in anything have already believed in something……. the Bible is evidence. Trusting in our God is evidence . Life the world everything in it is evidence.

I think for some of them, it’s not about evidence. Because you can look around this world and see God. It’s about having the feeling of autonomy. It’s about “I”. “I want to control my life”, “I want to be the one that gets praised.” Some people refused to be humbled. Pride is a powerful feeling.

Romans 1 tells us that atheists are people who deny God. Everyone sees the evidence of His existence, many just choose to deny it or willingly remain ignorant so they won’t feel guilty.
I’m arguing symantics, but I think it helps narrow the apologetic approach.
That being said, I believe the evidence can turn an atheist. Lee Strobel, author of A Case for Christ, had this happen to him. As an atheist, his sought to dismantle the evidence of Christ and in the end couldn’t refute it and got saved.

No, because the moment you have evidence, there is always some humanistic idea to combat it. People will always find a way out from being responsible. My mom always said to me when I was younger, “where there is a will, There is a way.” That means that if you really want something, you will make it possible.m- and that has to do with human will. And since we always find the will to dispense with God, we will always choose our own will. It is no wonder why Jesus said, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done…” in the Lord’s prayer and, “not my will but Your will be done…” in the garden of Gethsemane. We have to surrender our rebellious will that wants to fight against belief in God, and God Himself when He tries to steer us in the right direction.

I was an atheist and after exploring the evidence believed in God, but didn’t become a Christian until a few years later when God got a hold of me.

Evidence is important but probably not the main reason people believe. I’ve even told this many times to my atheist friends. It doesn’t seem to matter how much evidence I give them or how well I’m able to explain it to them, it’s something they’re not connecting with in their heart. Like the scripture says it begins with belief in the heart and then moves to confession with the mouth.

In some cases, yes, but in many cases, no. Many atheists are so firmly committed to their worldview that no evidence would be sufficient to change their minds. One atheist had a near death experience and was convinced it was real but remained an atheist anyway.

I find that a good amount of Atheists become Agnostic or are actually Agnostics that are really confused.

Romans 1 … They do believe in God they just choose to deny Him and to not submit to Him. No man is without excuse for God has made Himself known through creation. The man that deliberately choose not to retain the knowledge of God, God has given them over to a debased mind. We don’t ever hear them say they don’t believe in aliens or fairy’s or leprechauns, or bigfoot, and the reason why is we all know none of them exist. How ignorant we would be to declare we believed in such things that don’t exist. However God does exist so they say they don’t believe but truly i say to you no one can believe in anything that doesn’t exist

I used to think so, but then I realized that the scribes and pharisees saw Jesus perform many miracles and they still did not believe. No amount of evidence will convince someone who does not want to believe.

It’s all there my friends if you listen and have an open mind to the evidence. If you still wanted to ignore the evidence I’m sorry I can’t help you….

If their heart is open to it. Spirituality is a moral dilemma, so dont think that “evidence” is going to convince them. Debates provide people with something to think about, but it’s up to God to reveal the truth.

To me with atheist a lot of times it’s more of a emotional problem with them believing in God more than a evidence based one.

Its a personal thing actually. I use to always say, even if Jesus Himself is the one teaching them things they wouldnt believe it if they dont want to. Its a matter of belief.
And whats frightening is God wont push them if they really dont want to. Free will ??♂️

I have heard atheists unequivocally state that even with proof they would not believe. Agnosticism is a search for evidence, and agnostics tend to be much more open-minded. Atheism is actually a rejection of God…real or not.

I had a person at my house who claimed that they were an atheist, and yet made a big deal about God, which is kind of silly since they don’t believe in God in the first place. There is no such thing; “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse” (Rom. 1:20)!

No. Atheists already have all of the evidence they need. They simply do not want a God in their lives telling them what not to do. They prefer sin to righteousness and that is that.
