   My recommendation learn the Bible and have the relationship.

   Next pick a type of apologetics and an area or two. There is just too much out there. You won’t be able to make arguments for everything.

   For me I like the philosophical arguments and textual Criticism.

   Formal training if you can. If not lots of reading from leaders in whatever area you pick.
