And this is important because ?

What is the purpose of the information?

If it is to debate with a Jewish person, you probably won’t win this argument. Often Jewish people are atheist and use the cultural Jewishness as a deflection. If they are Orthodox, the Jewish religion has evolved over the centuries and they subscribe to other texts un-familiar to Christians (the Talmud and I’ve heard some others referenced). If this is the case, I would suggest a different approach.

There are several other reasons you could be asking but I don’t want to assume too much.

I have read alot on this and I can provide that. Let me sift through it. But I would put aside any preconceptions and start by googling ” who is a jew ,Talmud” the discussions usually center on Samaritan differences. Karaites and as far as Christians a few good Jewish scholars would be Laurence h schiffman and the book ” who was a Jew” on the rift between Christians and Jews

Ignore the video was a mistake

  4. Shabach Yadah says:

Enrique Moreno why wouldn’t it be important? We’re talking about a people that salvation and who Gods chosen people are.

  5. Richard Byron Mator says:

Out of 70 million in israel there are roughly 7 million real jews that can trace their routes back to Abraham in Iraq. The rest are either jews by faith or just a mix bag of ethnic groups

  6. Steve McCormick says:

For someone to be considered Jewish, their mother has to be Jewish. Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Ipso facto, Jesus was Jewish.

I am always cautious and a bit concerned when people venture in tjis direction because it usually leads in the same direction, trying to be “more godly” by association, extreme dispensationalist theology, and a pride/arrogance at a perceived being better off than others in the kingdom. To be blunt Israel, God’s chosen entered into a covenant relationship with Him. A legal and binding agreement with very specific “if you do this, than I will do this and if you don’t do this than…”. When Israel rejected Christ and the Kingdom that covenant relationship was broken by them and the consequences where literally God divorcing himself from her, and taking for Himself a new bride, the Church. His obligations to Israel are similar to those of an ex-husband to an ex-wife.

  8. Shane Johnson says:

The only real Jew is one that is one inwardly … Those with circumcised heart … The church … The called out ones are the true Israel … The true seed of Abraham …One of the fatal flaws of Dispensationalism is not seeing this ..

  9. Christopher Carver says:

It is always the same way, and you don’t need the chapter or verse because it is biological. To be Jewish is to have Jewish blood.

  10. Aaron Miller says:

Technically, it means you are a descendant of the Tribe of Judah. But the term “Jew” is often treated to mean a Judaist, or a follower of Judaism.

  11. Clay Atwater says:

    Someone who practices Judaism.

Do you have a bible? Check it out and maybe you could answer your own question. You don’t need a proof text, you need to study the subject. Start with Paul’s letter to the Roman’s he actually deals with this argument because the letter was written to jews and non Jews and this was always a hot issue. Book of acts written by Luke is also helpful because jews wanted nothing to do with gentiles and their unclean food but everything starts changing. Galatians also a good letter. Paul discusses the Jewish argument about the law.

  13. Max Wolfe says:

    The entire book of genesis

  14. Max Wolfe says:

If you’re looking for a single bullet verse, it doesnt exist. It is in the entirety of the gospel message

  15. Lorna Aniwasal Kihel Borbon says:

Jews are from the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin. Before the split of the United Kingdom of Israel into southern and northern kingdom (2Chronicles) they were called Israelites (Jacob). To be called a Jew by blood, you should have a Jewish mother like Timothy.

  16. Doc Pip Thomas says:

Don’t. Just don’t call yourself Jewish unless you are Jewish.

  17. Doc Pip Thomas says:

“…..instruct certain men not to teach false doctrines or devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculation rather than the stewardship of God’s work, which is by faith. The goal of our instruction is the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a sincere faith.…”

  18. Adam Jordan says:

Didn’t we all come from Noahs bloodline and wasn’t he after Abraham

  19. Neng Khan Thang says:

Children of Abraham (Hebrews) children of Jacob (Israelites) children of Judah (Jewish).

  20. Tom Ellis says:

A person can be born Jewish or can convert to Judaism
