some say that all forms of feminism are evil so I have chosen to say “unhealthy feminism” and yes Jeffry I will say there is healthy feminism. As well as there is an oppressive male dominance.

So just to make this clear in my mind …. You against females doing things in the Church & believe that all things should be done by males? If that’s what the COG is about then I’m out of there, cause I believe that God has called ALL (male & female). I know the Word says, many are called but few are chosen. God equips those that HE HAS CALLED.

  3. Charles Page says:

truth is whatever clears your mind, right?

  4. Valerie Bale says:

So, your against female preachers, vocalist, musicians, teachers, etc? Are you saying that females are to sit back & remain silent & do nothing in the Church?

  5. Charles Page says:

Here is a COG woman evangelist calling herself “bishop”
    Is this too soon?

  6. Coe Campbell says:

When holiness left the world proudly matched In.

  7. Kyle Morrow says:

    I consider myself a feminist

  8. No, there has always been an unhealthy patriarchy

  9. Kyle Morrow says:

Definition of Feminism: the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes

    I align with this definition

  10. Kyle Morrow says:

I’ll also add ecclesiological to this

  11. Charles Page says:

no one is submissive to anyone one?? Jesus was submissive to His Father.

  12. Well that isn’t what Kyle said.

  13. My mother was a preacher.
    I am a 3rd generational Pentecostal.
My wife and I was married by a lady minister.
My wife’s sister was a lady minister.
Has God used lady ministers? Definitely yes.
1 Corinthians 14 says for a woman to keep silent in the church.
I attend a small Assembly Of God.
Most of the attendees are ladies.
We have messages in tongues most of the times given by ladies.
Interpretations has also been given by the ladies.
Prophetic utterances have been given by ladies.
I am not going to go against scripture, but I do believe it was Apostle Paul’s preference about ladies not having leadership roles not necessarily the Holy Ghost.
Also look at Acts 16 and you will see that a lady, was allowed to speak about Paul’s ministry.
Though later on she also was found to be demon possessed. But this continued for a few days. I believe he had to get the mind of the Lord before proceeding.
Now I personally believe that a church benefits better when a man is the pastor.
Yes, I have been members of churches with ladies as pastors. As a matter of fact I attended for years.
But I do not feel it is wise for a lady to serve any higher office than a local pastor, such as sectional pastor, district overseer or general overseer.
I do believe in the Biblical submission in marriage and that includes the church
    That’s my opinion.

  14. Lahry Sibley says:

When ladies can be the “husband of one wife”, then they can lead and teach men.

  15. We’re not our bodies, Charles.

  16. Drew Banacos says:

So unhealthy feminism equals ordination of women as bishops in the Church of God in your opinion? I’m not sure if men should be bishops in the Church of God. All men want is power. Plus their tendency to compete against each other doesn’t help build unity in the Church, only division.

  17. Charles Page says:

yes, in my opinion. What is unhealthy about it is the way many women and men as well are going about achieving it.

There is a lot of scripture twisting and modifying to get to the issue.

  18. Charles Page says:

blanket statement: “all men want is power”

    “All women want is power”

What about “all people have an innate desire for power” James 4 Maybe that innate power is a gift from God, a spirit within? It is a source of war among us.

  19. Lahry Sibley says:

Opinions without scriptural foundation have no place in HIS kingdom.

  20. Charles Page says:

Jesus took a seat after reading from the scroll and then offered his opinion, “this day is this scripture fulfilled in your midst”
Scripture read alone is of no value until we have offered our interpretation of that scripture.

  21. Lahry Sibley says:

    That is very wrong .

  22. Lahry Sibley says:

Mat_4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Luk_4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
