It’s a shame that the deep state lies so much to the people, the congress and the president that we don’t know what to believe about issues like this any more.
Iran’s theocratic leadership is facing a lot of domestic pressure due to the sanctions and is spoiling for an attack to help unify the people there as well as other Moslem/Arab groups hostile towards Israel and the U.S. But a direct attack on Iran may do more good than harm at least in the short term.
It’s too bad the West can’t arm the Iranians who hate their government and would try overthrowing it.
