Eating like a six-year-old

“I’m one quarter Coca-Cola. If I eat 2700 calories a day, a quarter of that is Coca-Cola. I drink at least five 12-ounce servings.” His explanation for his sugar-centric diet: “I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among six-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a six-year-old. It’s the safest course I can take.” _Warren Buffet, interview with Fortune magazine

Side note: In this same interview Buffet revealed that he purchases his breakfast at MacDonald’s every morning except when he travels…then he eats Oreo cookies.

How can you be possibly the richest man in the world and still be running an almost one trillion dollar company at age 91 while drinking five cokes a day and eating at MacDonald’s everyday for years?!

Warren Buffet is what is called an exception.

What does that mean?

It certainly doesn’t mean you chuck your veggies and start eating ice cream every day or toss your walking shoes into the trash bin and become a couch potato.

It means you stay clear in your mind that Buffet is an exception to the rule…called him lucky if you want or even blessed, but be very careful to not make a rare exception your justification for ignoring the proven science of healthy living. I suspect you will end up shortening your life.

The ONE THING for today: Everyday, in all areas of life, you will witness exceptions to the rules of life. Don’t let them confuse you and distract you. Stay focused on the proven until it is actually proven wrong.

Psalm 128:1 (NKJV)
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.

A couch potato in the making!
