Fellow Christians,
why did we accept the worlds’ crazy idea of locking down our churches?
#The Anti-Christ was rejoicing.
Fellow Christians,
why did we accept the worlds’ crazy idea of locking down our churches?
#The Anti-Christ was rejoicing.
Out of Christian lkve of others and not wanting to willfuulluly harm them. We knoe better than that and love better. The one thinfg needful.id the ekrd and we still had ymthat b
Lack of faith
That church you are talking about is just a building but the real church is us. Every houses open a church online and at home.
the buildings themselves were shutdown, but the churches are continuing their operations in preaching the gospel and helping the poor in various ways, ensuring that the Kingdom of Heaven will continue advancing.
Imagine how much Satan rejoiced
?♂️?♂️?♂️
We need to repent for that sin
Exactly
Who writes these posts honestly?!
Lockdown has brought our Church closer together and has opened up very significant evangelistic opporunities!
Oh, and the reason for the lockdown was preventing death!
Submission to the authority is godly therefore the Devil isn’t rejoicing.
Churches were not locked down. The church has no walls. We as Christians need to understand that the church is the body of Christ and stop confiding it into four walls. It’s like we are putting God in a box.
You are absolutely correct. We as the church have failed. It’s sad.
Out of obedience. God still provided a means to have service and have fellowship. Give a brother or sister in Christ a phone call, but these evil means do not excuse us to speak so soon. God lays the foundations of the universe, seek wisdom in Him and get out of your way into His way.
Lack of Hebrews 11
Why would Satan rejoice? He was probably fearful because Christians were showing compassion and concern for fellow man. For so long he had managed to keep Christians cooped up in “chicken pens” he called church buildings – by making Christians believe the lie that the church was a building, and now these Christians were out of their cage. How terrifying for him!
No way.. Satan concerned more on the spiritual church not physical. So we can worship God in spirit and truth.
We just change the format. The gates of Hell will NOT overcome
On the bright side there is a church in every Christian home!
They can lockdown the buildings but not the church within you. The Word of God cannot be quarantined.
It just shows that we Christians know how to obey and submit to authority.
Did the Bible teaches to submit to the authority/government?
Very true .just imagin that covid19 was the name of a statue built by the anty christ that anyone who never obey the lockdown rule will be trown into fir the church has failed ..but thanks to GOD
God calls us to act in wisdom
We have held off on having services for the same reason we wouldn’t worship in a church building that is on fire
Now we may very well look back and say this virus was a small insignificant fire. But when you see smoke you listen to what your eyes tell you
Now if we get several months down the line and it turns out that there is no danger.
I believe that is when we as Christians peacefully hold church whether or not our govt tells us it’s okay
Many churches have been locked down for years, keeping people out they don’t find acceptable or who don’t look or act or say the same as them. Jesus said to go and tell the good news not stay in a building with people who are just like you, God bless everyone and stay healthy
All of us here are perfect. We are the church. Enjoy this fellowship brothers and sisters….
I see how God has worked this for good. A church in San Antonio is having a virtual VBS. Thousands more children around the world can be reached.
Many people have put masks on for years. So there’s that
Couldnt you just have onlines church sessions so as to not spread the virus which may kill elderlies (especially since elderlies that to go to church)
Speak for yourself!
13 YouTube videos, loads on Facebook, + Instagram posts, Twitter posts, 100 + families fed every week much deeper connection to the local community
The lockdown is to prevent the spread of the epidemic, not to persecute churches. No need to be dramatic and make it about us or the church.
Lol, did you stop worshipping because you can’t go to church? We are the church not the building.
Churches were not lockdowned. We still operate thru social and multi media. Only the church buildings are locked y
My friend Marvin, would Yu rather attend church -& fall sick or follow proceedings @ home & remain healthy & safe?
Satan was rejoicing as Jesus was crucified and we all know how that turned out. Trust Him in every way and every thing. Roman’s 8:28 says He works ALL things for the good of those who love Him. Maybe we needed to get out of the building and in to the world. Maybe too many were satisfied with listening to a man preach for an hour per week. May be we are more useful in the world than in a pew.
No church as been shutdown, church is not a building and the church of Christ as no wall, borders, race, etc!!! We live in a society which is governed by laws and has order, it’s a reflection of the God we serve, He is not of disorder, and He has placed us under authority that are raised by Him alone, and we ought to obey and submit to them
Romans 13:1-2
Hebrews 13:17
To all the rich people, stay at home. You wouldn’t want to mingle with the poor people who cant afford an electronic device. Virtual meetings are a copout.
Are you suggesting to rebel against the government? Rom.13 are you sent from hell
You are absolutely correct in this. Those who support the shut down are 1) violating the command of our Lord not to forsake the fellowship, and 2) are committing idolatry by worshipping the Government and the virus. The kind of fear surrounding all this is is the same kind of fear people used to show to the pagan gods.
Because we care about our older, weaker members. The lockdown may be a hoax and it isn’t the government’s place to tell us to stay home, but Covid 19 is no joke. It is highly contagious and WILL KILL people with weak systems. If you want all your members making it back then quarantine isn’t an entirely bad thing.
In my country, the lockdown and closure of church buildings actually resulted in opening of churches in many homes.
But after the Curch is not anmore locking, the Boody of Christ, the Christian Believers, have a great Haverst with new Believers
You cannot close a church
Since when was the “church” locked down? The “church” of God has never been the building.
There’s a big big difference:
Government prevents Christians from gathering=Persecution.
Government prevents ALL people from gathering because of diseases=Public safety.
You are not being persecuted, you are not singled out becuase of your Christian beliefs. Learn to respect the Governing authorities God has blessed us with to keep us safe.
No condemnation from me. Good people made decisions based on the information they had at the time. Those good people need our prayers of support and not condemnation.
I didn’t miss a single church event due to covid..the church is the people, not the physical building.
Church is the community of believers
Churches are open in my county if certain conditions are met, like social distancing.
Considering most churches in America feed their sheep garbage it’s not as bad as you think. Perhaps they might actually come across sound teachings. But true fellowship is missed and the songs are missed but we can find other ways to do these things for now.
a biblical church cannot be closed becoz it is a group of believers…. it is a group of people, d called out ones….how can anyone close a group of people?non-biblcal church can be close becoz it is a place..all true Christians who are out there, please take note that a biblical church can never or ever be closed…
Are you medical? Are you a doctor or scientist?
The goverment lockdown the building and not the church…we are the church of God we never stop worshiping God…the goverment didnt stop us to worship God..
Didn’t shut mine down
I believe Barna poll showed an large increase worshippers attending from the internet. Kind of like the explosion in the countries that have band Christianity.
If i remember it correctly, quarantine is a biblical thing. I think its in Leviticus. It doesn’t forbid us to go on line.
Church is not the bldg. It is us the believers. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we can worship anytime, anyday anywhere.
We are the church, therefore, the church can never be closed. As I cared for Covid patients I had the opportunity to led some to christ before they died they repeated the sinner’s prayer with me. Others who were Christians I encouraged them in the Lord and they were full of gratitude. They were not allowed to see the family members for weeks and even months I became the hand of God extended to these patients. At discharge one of my patient cried and told me that as long as she lives she would never forget me. The church is never closed but during this holy pause the doors of the church are flung wide open but not in the usual manner. With spiritual eyes we can discern what is happening spiritually.
Let’s be honest here, we are found Not worthy for standing up for Christ.
Imagine the world shutting up our churches that EASY.
Closing churches saves lives.
“and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever”
Why did we back down from the truth?
By complaining about church closure, people reinforce the idea that church is merely a building and a one day a week worship service and if people show up on Sunday morning, it’s all good. This is not church, this is a country club. Church is the people. We are Christian 24×7. We worship all the time, individually or together online. Praying is worhip, singing is worshuip, reading the Bible is worship. I am the pastor of a church where the building is still closed. We connect online and on the phone everyday, we send cards, we pray for each other, we continue our weekly Bible study online. We continue our twice a week meal ministry to the homeless and needy (replaced the dinners with to-go meals). I have no plan to reopen the building anytime soon as I have elderly people in my congregation. We will start Sunday morning worship in the park weather-permitting. God is present everywhere, all the time. Not only Sunday morning in an old building that has seen better days and a bigger congregation. We have to change the way we do church or we will die out.
My feeling is, if people are going out to eat and shop, there is no reason not to attend church. Most of my brothers exercise caution while attending. Heaven forbid, I do not want to be responsible for making someone else sick.
Actually, hugging and shaking hands is about the only change noticeable.
He who saves his life will lose it
Because there is also a Biblical command to love your neighbor and when this CV started, it was unknown as to what it was going to be. As it progressed, you have seen places where it was staggering in infections as well as places it was not. It would have been irresponsible to meet when the threat was not fully known – and one should be careful not to judge those who feel they are acting according to conscience as well. There are many reasons – I would recommend putting the stone down and praying for those who choose not to freely worship as some do.
The church has not shut down for over 2,000 years.
What is this post even talking about?
You mean the money changers?
We the church need to come to a BALANCED view on this. Our solid faith in the Lord is not license to put Him to the test. Our Bible already tell us to obey the laws of the land and respect and pray for those in authority over us, whether we like it agree with them it not….
This pandemic didn’t surprise God. Before He created the universe, He was well aware all that shall transpire in the year 2020AD.
Believers are encouraged to not forsake assembling together for corporate worship, but it is not an imperative command. The government is not making us disobey God. This is all but for a season…a season God was aware from the beginning as sovereign creator. We should seek to BOTH follow His Word AND follow the government, for ALL government are ministers of His over cultures, whether a government is corrupt or good matters not, for the Lord is behind all, using even the evil of men to accomplish His good purposes.
Do you take precautions like wearing your seat belts in cars, harnesses on rollercoasters, goggles when spraying chemicals, work gloves when needed??? All those things are no different than wearing masks and avoiding mass gatherings. It doesn’t show lack of faith if you wear your seatbelt. What? God doesn’t have your back and save you from injury? Don’t you trust God to keep you falling out of a rollercoaster? No that’s foolish. Of course you take those precautions, so I suggest certain people stop trying to milk this situation for notariaty, and realize following the safety guidelines is not only right to God because it’s respecting and obeying your government, but obeying And trusting Him.
Balance. A happy medium. Either too far this way, or too far that way, you end up in the ditch….
How do you know it wasnt Gods will
Which church did they shut down???
Neil Steven Lawrence I lived to see preachers telling their own members do NOT come to church. How would these same preachers now get up on Sunday and say now come to church
For we are not to tempt God!
And church is not a building! We are the body of Christ!
Only the building was, the Church of Christ it’s the believers.
Because as Christians we are called to put our lives at risk for the sake of others; but we are not called to others in harms way because of our wants. If your Church was “Shut down”, then it’s not a part of the body of Christ that isn’t dependent on a building to worship God in spirit and truth. Neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. Christ’s church is free and unbound. Quarantine did not limit God. We must repent of the idolatry of our brick and mortar dependency on genuine worship.
We accepted to love our neighbor as ourself, to honor those in authority, to reflect Christ who said give to Cesar what was Cesars and to God what is God’s. What we were asked to do was for the benefit of others and was not a sign of persecution in any way.
Consider the majority of “churches” in America. I see this as exposing them for what they truly are. There are many different ways to fellowship and keep in touch with believers, as discovered, due to technological advances. Consider this: if a man joins the military and is no longer able to attend his church, is he sinning for being away from church? If he were to be able to tune into a radio broadcast of his church’s sermons or write letters to his congregation, is he still sinning because he is not physically present with them? To each his own regarding how severe the virus really is, but there is a thin line between stepping out in faith and exemplifying rebellion “in the name of the Lord”.
what did the early Christian do when they did not have a and run for thei lives.
It was honestly a wise decision. The government may have shut down us meeting in person, but my Church was not shut down? Zoom works wonders lol. Church isn’t a building
You can’t shut down churches. The church is not a building.
If the government tells you your faith is illegal, then you need to rebell.
If the government tells you you need to avoid church to save lives, then you NEED TO STAY HOME.
It saddens me that adults have a problem understanding this.
We don’t need to repent for anything we had no control over. Everything shut down for a time. We are slowly opening up now. God knew this before hand. Don’t carry the burden that it is your fault.
The buildings being shut down didn’t stop the gospel from getting out. They were people getting saved. You need to thank your God in heaven about that.
What? Um because we care about the health of the congregation and the community. I think churches will opening up soon. Patience my child.
Buildings shut. The church is a body of believers
The church is ALWAYS open. Buildings however are not. Meet online until further notice or in your home with trusted precautions if necessary.
Buildings aren’t everything.
Christians are the church, not the building. Nobody can shut us down as long as our voices are heard.
Shutting down for safety is loving. Being forced to shut down and remaining shut down is another thing all together….there was a time that our church closed for bed bugs….no one wanted to be in there until it was debugged…I certainly feel your pain and frustration. The reason and purpose certainly matters.
Is anyone questioning the use of the term “bewitched” here?
Do we as Christian’s believe this is possible to fall under a spell? If a spell was to be put on us, would that be our own fault which we need to repent of?
I think we need to be mindful of our words because it can create some confusion about what exactly we believe.
