“God can not be tempted by evil nor can he tempt anyone.”
Yet Jesus being God the son was tempted in the wilderness, wasn’t he? Please reconcile for me đ

So God proved, even 3 times Satan attempted Jesus but not successful
Jesus the man was tempted.
Can anyone who knows how it is written in original language confirm the translation of âbeing temptedâ or âwas temptedâ; as in felt tempted.
Jesus was fully God and fully man. It was Jesus the man that was tempted
Jesus felt anguish, He wept, He felt pain
He had to in order to fulfil scripture
In Matthew 4:2 and James 1:13 the word is ÏΔÎčÏΏζÏ
But based on context it is different meaning. In Matthew Jesus was the one receiving temptation of the devil but he was never tempted. In other words Jesus was tested and passed.
In James it is saying God doesnât do the tempting. This is different from the devil trying to tempt Jesus. But Jesus never fell to temptation. Make sense? Lol
A-He wasnât successfully tempted. Attempt is possible. He rejected as we should do.
Well itâs simple, God cannot be tempted with evil, Jesus proved it.
Jesus was never tempted because in His heart God’s will was the only important thing.
John 14:30 NASB
I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;
The thesis: God canât not be tempted
The exception: Jesus Christ who was
The vindication: He was not!
That was (Matthew 4:1-11) our Lord God showing us that He CANNOT lead us INTO temptation BUT He CAN deliver us from evil (John 10:10, Matthew 6:13)
Satan “attempted” to tempt Jesus. Jesus didn’t accept. So no…Jesus wasn’t tempted.
Compare that with the sovereignty of God
Jesus is both fully God and fully man. As a man Jesus can feel everything we can feel.
Jesus felt temptation in the wilderness.
He felt sorrow as he wept at Lazarusâs tomb
He was hungry after his resurrection and requested food.
Plenty of New Testament scripture talks about him feeling love and compassion.
He felt tiredness as he slept through a storm on a boat with his Disciples.
He felt righteous anger as he drove away the people who made his âfathers house of prayerâ a âden of robbersâ
The felt thirst on the cross when he said âI thirstâ
He felt grief and anguish as he prayed for the cup to be taken away from him in the garden.
He felt pain as he was crucified.
Jesus is fully God, but he is also fully man. He experienced all we experience. He is the only sinless man to ever walk the planet.
In short Jesus was no tempted by God but the devil.
But we must remember Jesus while here on earth was human, and could be tempted just as you and I are, if He had not been tempted He could not have understood what it was like to be human
If Jesus come to earth with his Glory, no one who saw him would live. So Jesus though God, choose to come as complete man, (normal human being).
you ask that question because you thought Jesus came like Superman.
Lucifer is a slave to God
God canât tempt because itâs not pure and Holy
Therefore like the mafia
He orders a hit on someone the devil comes and tempts them
Since Christ was fully God and Fully man
The God of him was never tempted
But the human body was
Why did Jesus pray?
If he was God himself
Itâs almost him being crazy ?
Talking to himself?
Heâs the creator of the universe knower of all things
Yet
He talks to himself??
God himself cannot be tempted since his very nature is righteousness. So to tempt God with sex, drugs, an rock and roll is futile his nature will not allow him to sin. However when he took upon flesh, Jesus, it was the flesh that gave Satan an opportunity to tempt God then. This is why God had to come in the flesh in order to be tempted in all points as we are yet without sin. Because Christ was sinless that’s what gave him the ability to be the sacrifice for sin.
Keep in mind that sin is not the breaking of a rule or law, but rather the breaking of relationship. How could God break the relationship to Himself?
The Devine nature of Jesus wasnât tempted, it was the human nature which was Tempted.
Only the Son of Man and His humanity, like all of us, was vulnerable to: hunger, pride and greed.
Jesus is the second Adam and needed to pass the same test given to adam after passing the test he is qualified to be the sacrifice for our sins. The temptations were real Satan wants the throne and tried to get it then.
Just as he still is now. He knows his time is short
Tempting Jesus is like shooting at someone behind bulletproof glass. You can shoot him, but you can’t shoot him. You can tempt God, but he can’t tempted. You can try though.
Jesus is also fully man and fully God. God can’t be tempted but man can. It was his man nature that was tempted. His flesh.
