Had my 2nd “Bible study” with Jehovah’s witnesses today… Trying to show them who Jesus really is and kindly show them they’re following a false religion and have a Jesus that can’t save but it’s taking a bigger toll than i expected. I’m surrounded by non believers and today is a tough one. In need of some true Christian encouragement.

The are difficult. They are unified. Christian’s are divided by so many denominations

Who is the first and last? It can only be Jehovah according to Isaiah 48:12-13
Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

  4. Christopher Carver says:

But Revelation 2:8 says Jesus is the First and the Last
    And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
    which is correct? Both
    I love this one.

  5. Keitra Jones says:

Be encouraged and if they’re not responding shake the dust and move on to the harvest.

  6. Charles Kaminski says:

The late Dr. Walter Martin, use to be the Bible Answer man, witnessed to Jehovah witnesses in a video,it was pretty good, maybe you can check it out.

So difficult to break through…. with people who are in a cult like that.

Sometimes we just plant seeds over time. Maintain the relationship, pray for them and try in small doses.

Remind yourself that you may not be the one that breaks through with them but you can set things up well for the next person.

I’ve prayed for you and them.

Just pray that their eyes might be opened or better still refrain from entertaining them at all.

I have 2 articles using the JW bible to prove the trinity. Maybe give them a copy?

    Jehovah Witness points. Part 1.

Hey guys! These are some notes from our Equip courses about Jehovah Witnesses. If anyone has JW friends or family, and would like some references to help bring them to Christ, we have a list of evidences from their own New World Translation. Or, if anyone would like to engage them at the front door or when they’ve set up a table outside a store front, these may help. Copy them to the notepad on your phone if you’d like. Disclaimer- all of these passages are in their bible, not ours.

JWs believe Jesus is the Son of God, but not God himself. They don’t believe in the Trinity. Instead they think Jesus is the first created being, the archangel Michael who took on a human nature. He was made by God before everything including heaven and earth, then he(the Son) made everything else aside from himself. Their own bible has no evidence that Michael made anything, nor does it say that Michael became Jesus. This is simply an extrabiblical belief from their Watchtower organization and the JW governing body.

In fact, their own bible says in Daniel 10:13 that Michael is “one of the foremost princes”. That means there are more so-called princes that compare to him. So, even if Jesus was Michael, he wouldn’t be that special.

    Ok. Here we go!

Hebrews 1:3 “He (Christ) is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact representation of his very being, and he sustains all things by the word of his power.”

They say Jesus is a reflection of God’s own glory, but isaiah 42:8 and 48:11 both say that God won’t give his glory to anyone else.

    And Jesus “sustains all things”?

Psalm 55:22 – “Throw your burden on Jehovah, and HE will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to fall.”

Psalm 55 doesn’t say Jehovah will see to it that you are sustained (as if he were using another person to do it). Psalm 55 says Jehovah does it himself!
How can Jehovah sustain the righteous if Jesus is sustaining all things?

People are made in the “image” of God, but Jesus embodies the “EXACT representation of God’s very being”?? No created being could ever do such a thing! But Jesus does in Hebrews 1:3.
    And…

Colossians 2:9 “it is in (Christ) that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells bodily.”
ALL the fullness of the divine quality! Omniscience omnipotence omnipresence eternal infinite uncreated etc….
(See verse 8 to confirm verse 9 is definitely talking about Christ)

The New World Translation gives many divine attributes to Jesus.

Matthew 18:19-20 “Again i tell you truly, if two of you on earth agree concerning anything of importance that they should request, it will take place for them on account of my Father in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.”

This is Jesus speaking. Notice the contrast between “on the account of my Father in heaven”, and “there I AM in their midst”. Jesus is talking about himself. When followers gather together in Jesus’ name, he will be there in their midst.

1 Corinthians 5:4 “When you are gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, and knowing that I (Paul) am with you in spirit along with the power of our Lord Jesus.”

They gather in Jesus’ name. Paul is there only in spirit, but Jesus doesn’t say “in spirit”. Jesus says he’s in their midst himself. It’s the spirit of Paul, but the power of Christ. That makes a big difference.

John 14:13-14 “Also, whatever you ask in my name, I will do this, so that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”

Jesus would have to be omniscient to know everyone’s identity and location, omnipotent to grant everyone’s request and omnipresent to be there in multiple places with everybody.

We all know the stories of Jesus walking on water. They are the same in the NWT. But that’s a problem for the Jehovah Witness because Job 9:8 says it is Jehovah who walks on the water! He “treads upon the high waves of the sea.”

Titus 3:4 says our savior is God.
Titus 3:6 says Christ is our savior.
-Do we have two different saviors? No.
Isaiah 43:11- “I- I am Jehovah, and besides ME there is no savior!”
This shows that the Father and Son must both be equally Jehovah.

Revelation 5:13 “And i heard every creature in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, saying: “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.”

Everyone catch that? Every created being is worshipping the LAMB the exact same way they worship the Father. John is writing this and he exhausts the language. He says absolutely every creation is on one side and the Father and Son together are on the other! Why isn’t Jesus standing with all the other created beings? Because he’s not “created”. He’s eternal, and he is sitting with the Father, separated from all creation, receiving worship exactly like the father receives worship! Blessing and honour and glory and might equally to BOTH Jehovah and the Lamb in the same manner at the same time! The entire universe is proclaiming idolatry… unless Jesus is God with the Father.

These are just a few proof texts to share with whomever you wish. All are quoted from the Jehovah Witness bible. We have more coming in the next few days. Let’s be a witness to the witnesses.

By the way… If they really believe that our English translations have been inaccurate for hundreds of years, and somehow God revealed His absolute truth to them instead in their bible, then why did they have to go back and edit it 4 times?? Right inside the front cover of their NWT you will see 1961, 1981, 1984, 2013. Didn’t they receive the true Word of God the first time? If they’ve had to rewrite their own book 4 times so far, how can they prove it’s accurate now?

  12. David Marmolejo says:

Keep your eyes on Jesus. Give them something to think about and rely on the Holy Spirit. Keep at it.

  13. Michael Hurtado says:

I do have some experience in dealing with them. There’s one person who I can recommend for advice. Mike winger, I’ll post his videos for you

  14. Luzviminda Damance says:

They keep coming to my house and I keep telling them about Jesus and who is Jesus to my life.

  15. Jeff Adolphson says:

You’re doing the right thing. But a biblical example is, if they don’t listen, to move on. It’s like sowing seeds on the good soil or the rocks.

  16. Freddy Jocksand Diaz says:

You are brave to do that, but never feel like you need to convince someone. First make sure you are standing strong on truth and your faith is unmovable. Also always have a conversation in love.

By the way it will be very difficult to convince a versed Jehovah’s witness because they use a version of the Bible that has been tampered and forged with back in the 1950s and it teaches things differently than ours. When I accept bible study with a JW, I tell them first to make sure we use a correct Bible. So from the beginning, you can expose their book. The New World version is heretic.

  17. Mark Celio says:

    Doing good

  18. Angela Spencer says:

I really appreciate all your comments ? I felt drained and discouraged after their “study”, but I really appreciate all the advice and kind words and encouragement. Thank you all.

  19. Steve Yun says:

They have a big stronghold, with group support, pretty tough to get through sometimes, you’re still planting seeds. If they don’t receive, not to rejoice in anyone’s consequences of their choices, but the Word you share with them will be a witness against them.

Also, Abba showed me the letter to laodicea, the words Jesus uses is saying He’s higher than angels.
The book of Colossians speaks against the worship of angels, Colossians mentions laodicea, there’s some connection.
The interesting thing is Jesus is the one knocking on the door in Revelation 3: letter to laodicea, get it 🙂

  20. James King says:

Friend . I applaud you for taking on this task.
Let me ask a few Question? Are you doing this alone? Is there another strong spirit filled and anointed Christian there with you??? How many of these people are there?? 2? 3?
Have you prayed yourself for God help by His spirit? And have you gotten the green light to do this ?? From the Lord!! Why do I asked?
We do many things believing and we do not first seek The Father In the matter? and even if He indeed press this matter into your spirit, we Need to bring it back to Him so you Can understand what He wants done!! The Jehovah witness have a specific agenda and doctrine and they are not always on the same page as the scriptures. And yet , the Bible teach us Jesus sent them out two by two . Never singular / or as one. Also, bible teaches us , Jesus said , where there is two or three, there I am in the midst (my words ) , get the inference. Bible teach us a true witness is not the word or words one alone but the witness of 2. With the witness of 2. The word spoken be it right or not is believable or have weight.
Jesus said , I know who I am and I know whom sent me but you do not accept or believe what I have said. But evenso believe me for the works sake , that which I have done wrought of God for he is my witness . I alone am a witness and yet my father is my witness .
In like manner , you need other likeminded Christians praying for you and interceding for you while you are engaged with these persons. Without such prayers and intercession, and covering ,you will be stymied by the CEO of Evil Inc , the devil.

  21. Emmanuel Chipambala says:

I’ve done that a few times to no avail. Their deception is way deeper than most people who have not dealt with them think. It’s only by the grace of God that one can walk out of that faith.

    John 1:3

  23. Angel Hutchings says:

If I were you I would listen to some of Jeff Durban’s confrontations with Jehovah’s witnesses. He has a strategy that gives you confidence in bringing the conversation back to Jesus every time. He also explains their version of the Bible as translated by the watch tower

  24. Lydia Anne Martin says:

Plant your seeds, dust off your shoes, and let God do the rest of the work ❤️

  25. Daniel Nemoto says:

Jehovah’s witnesses are brain washed, they will never believe what you point out in Scripture, these are men without the Holy Spirit trying to interpret the Scripture that is written by the Holy Spirit. Don’t be discouraged my dear, you are doing great

  26. Joseph Dunbar says:

you need to prove the watchtower is a false prophet and you and them are being fooled into thinking they are real. Deut 18:20-22 then. Reveal to them the false prophecies watchtower has made – use their books and literature.
This book saved my life as well as my mental “peace” of mind

  27. Dorian Saunders says:

You are awesome, just plant the seeds. It’s not your job to make them believe, but some or all of those seeds you plant, will eventually bear fruit one day, whether in or out of your presence. God will reward you and your loved ones greatly, for your work in the vineyard. You are doing all a person can do. Much respect!

  28. Ruben Joel says:

Keep up the good work. We preach the gospel so that the Lord’s sheep would hear His voice, and return to the father. Amen.

  29. Barbara M Normandin says:

Im a seasoned Christian and I would not take on Jehovahs witnesses. You need to feed yourself in the scriptures Many are lovely people have talked to my share. And leave on good loving terms but they are drenched in their doctrine so just pray for them. Find someone to read or pray with and stay connected with like believers.. ❤.

  30. Curtis Esadorn Magwood Sr. says:

Wow, you said Bible Study w/ JW’s nearly impossible task! Your heart is right, yet your technique may complicate your task. You should have the Study w/ no more than two of them one of their Leaders (one that stands out) and a follower (one that appears to look up to that Leader). This will shift some energy off of you and onto the leader. Simply because this will cause the leader make sure the follower doesn’t her confused. In the Leaders mind they’re converting you while Teaching the follower.
One other thing you will need a New World Translation Bible (NWT) the one JW’S use prepare by using this Bible Parallel w/ your Version.
I know this because I’m a 5Fold Pastor and a former child to teenager raised J.W.. Happy Studies!

  31. Patrick Boren says:

There is a season for planting, for watering, for weeding, for harvesting. There is wisdom in discerning sincerity. If those you witness to become hardened you must wait and hold those pearls. The right time and right opportunity will arise (Galatians 6:9).

  32. Jesse Johnson says:

I think you’re more likely to convince them by letting them see the difference Jesus makes in your life. I say that because of the ones I’ve tried to talk to. No getting through. But give them the truth and live for God. They can’t get away from that.

  34. David Weinstein says:

Walter Martin wrote a great book. It should help you . The Kingdom of the Cults. They have a section on jws in there.

  35. Mary Sova Lefler says:

They can confuse you really good I’d stay away from them they are a cult

  36. Frankie Casa de Lobos says:

A fair question to the JW’s you are meeting with is, are they are truly open to hearing what you are saying about the Deity of Christ . Some are so stuck on their ways that they probably are more interested in converting you. Pleas consider Matthew 7:6

  37. Mike Vincent says:

What a great opportunity to share the true gospel of Jesus Christ with them, and for you to learn to establish how to defend and be grounded with what you believe. There are few things that are essential to know when having a dialogue with them. 1st always be in prayer before, during and after your time with them. 2nd keep the conversation centered on who Jesus Christ is. Don’t side tracked about the word “trinity” the scriptures teach the character and nature of God in 3 persons, however just like the word “bible”, the word “trinity” is not found in scripture. Also know that the bible they use is the erroneous New World Translation for which they do not and will not provide the names and credentials of those who were involved in the translation. They usually state the translators do not want the credit for their work. The truth is that no accomplished greek or hebrew scholar wants to take the blame for it. There are tons of scriptures that establish Jesus is Jehovah God YHWH. Here are just a few. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Matthew 1:23 “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” Gen. 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
Psalm 100:3 Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Col. 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.
Isaiah 43:10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. 11 I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.
12 I declared and saved and proclaimed, when there was no strange god among you; and you are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and I am God. 1 Tim. 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, 10 and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, 2in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began 3 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior; 4 To Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

  38. John Raymond Flores says:

You are doing great! Hang in there! You are doing what the Bible say. Contend for the faith!

  39. Tisan Skillz says:

That is apologetics brother go ahead

  40. Richard Carson says:

Keep it up. Your efforts will be honored. Remember it is not your job to bring them to Faith; that is purely the duty of the Holy Spirit. It is your job to be obedient to the task of sharing the Truth, and to be loving and caring the process.

Make sure you are in constant prayer over this task.

If you have ever heard for “Seeking Allah Finding Jesus” by Nabeel Querishi, David Wood was a good friend sharing the Gospel with Nabeel for years before Nabeel finally came to Faith. Now I have a good friend, a former Muslim, that was only able to come to Faith by reading Nabeel’s book and seeing a path to Belief he never imagined possible.

Your effort can have ripples into the future you could never imagine.

  41. Sean Conley says:

What you should do is point out the sins of their “governing body” the 5 or 6 men who sit in an office building without “oversight”. I first discovered they are not a religious organization but a political organization. They are anti flag, anti pledge, anti military, anti constitution…need I say more? You could also point out the word.” Jehovah ” isn’t even in the hebrew old testament or in the greek. It was placed there in tje 15th century. By a catholic monk. From YHWH to J e H o V H a.

  42. Kelly Mika says:

Don’t give up. I’m a former JW. They will always try to convert you. John 20:28 is the scripture that got me looking deeper into things. also, 1 Thess. 5:23-24. Walter Martin’s book Kingdom of the Cults is excellent.

  44. Kim Fanning says:

Ask them why Jesus was crucified? Not why he died on the cross (to save us); why did the people say “blasphemy, crucify him”? Because He said he was God. Why did Thomas say when Jesus returned resurrected, “my Lord and my God” yet Jesus did not correct or scold him for calling Jesus God?
