He’s All I Need

Sometimes in our lives, for those of us who are sincerely trying to walk hand in hand with the Lord, we find ourselves under attack. This is especially true if you are doing any kind of work or ministry for God. Carnal and selfish people, with motives far from Christlikeness, will use your hurt to push their agenda. We may have done nothing wrong; in fact, quite the opposite, we may have served the Master and loved our fellow man to the best of our ability, and yet the enemy of our soul uses others, sometimes even those who claim Christ for themselves, to wound us in his attempt to thwart our walk with the Lord Jesus.

We see it in the world constantly, but the greater tragedy is when we see it in the realm of Christianity, especially among those attempting to push some religious or political agenda or seek personal promotion. It has been Satan’s tactic for ages. Jesus’s greatest attacks and the eventual call for His death came from the ranks of the religious.

Paul spoke of one “Alexander the Coppersmith, who did him much evil” and one “Hymenaeus” who blasphemed him. John spoke of one “Diotrephes” who wanted “preeminence” in the church and “prattled” against John “with malicious words.”

But Jesus, Paul, and John never faltered and finished with great triumph, while their detractors, and all of their fault finders and their cynics, are but bad footnotes of history. God has got us in the hollow of His mighty hand. We are His loved children, and an attack upon us by the carnal just demonstrates what a threat to the enemy we really are.

God sees our humility and quiet prayers and love of His Word, and He alone is Sovereign and guides our steps on the path He has chosen for us. In plain, easy-to-understand street speech, “Ain’t nobody gonna mess with God’s children and get away with it.” After all, the Psalmist reminds us in Psalms 118:6, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”

I awoke this morning with a song ringing clearly and beautifully through my mind and warming my soul. It was the simple chorus
that says……
”He’s all I need,
He’s all I need,
Jesus is all I need,
He satisfies,
My need supplies,
Jesus is all I need.”

Indeed my dear friend, in the midst of your life, and in the worst of your battles, and certainly at the end of your life, Jesus is all you need. Give everything to Him today.
