I have a Question.
In our world there are a lot of religion And we know that all the religions describes God in different way.
So how do we know that which religion is true and what is the criteria used?.

Faith
What fits. What is religion for. This problem isn’t unique to religion. Politics, shoping in the store, who to marry, obeying the law, what house to buy, it nrmever ends.
Jesus say ms I’m the way the truth and life
Nobody cakes to the father but through me
Plus Jesus did nothing in secret
Worldviews can generally be divided into 3.
1) Believe only the universe exists (atheism, buddhism etc);
2) Believe only god exists i.e. the universe doesn’t (Hinduism & other eastern religions);
3) Both god & the universe exists (Judaism, Islam & Christianity)
You can argue against 1 & 2 leaving you with worldview 3.
In 3 you decide through historical evidence on Jesus Christ (the death/resurrection/post mortem appearances/faith by the early disciples who were from Judaic worldview etc). If what scripture says about Jesus coheres with history then Judaism & Islam cannot be true. Christianity must be.
Test each religion’s truth and see which messages cohere and corresponds in todays world. But then again, religion wont save you.
The books of the Bible are comprised of a collection of the most venerated and reliable historical text we have from antiquity. Specifically prophecies made several hundred if not thounsands of years before being fulfilled in what we see in the Gospels and Epistles of the New Testament. Eyewitness accounts of a man, Jesus Christ who directly claimed to be the Son of God who also predicted His death and whom these men witnessed alive three days after being pronounced dead and then further witnessed Him ascend into heaven and many of these men went on to die for their faith one of which they were in the unique position of knowing whether what they claimed was true or false. 1500 years, over 40 authors across 3 continents and all telling one continuous story. Here is a video that better explains it.

I do not like the word ” Religion” my opinion religion divides the Church no matter what religion it is. I just go out of the Bible with no religion attached and I try my best to be Christ like
It comes down to truth. The bible was written via text Scrolls, known as scripture, for several thousand years. God used many men that He inspired to write out His word. It all matches up perfectly with no errors. Men died proclaiming His word. If His word was a lie why would His disciples die horrific deaths?
It does come down to faith. Either His word is accepted or it is not.
Use the criteria Jesus directed.
To read the scriptures that contain his direction…

Great question!
I’d start by looking at the evidence backing truth claims within each religion. This is a Christian group, so I’d recommend starting with the resurrection of Jesus. If he did rise from the dead, then he proved who he said he was (the messiah). If he didn’t, then Christianity is false.
I’d start with the evidence presented in the Bible as well as outside sources. Gary Habermas has a lot of good resources online.
Then, I’d compare what you learned to other religions truth claims. Let me know if I can be of any assistance!
Praise the Lord brother!
If we talk about a true religion then we must identify, evaluate and go for these four foundations for faith:
Origin
Meaning
Purpose
Destination
(by Ravi Zachariah)
And Christianity is the only faith in which you find all these parameters being fulfilled.
Bible starts from our creation or origin.
Our life has meaning by God’s grace only Who loved and sacrificed Himself for us.
We are to worship and praise God Christ Jesus.
And finally our destination is heaven….where we’ll live with the God.
May God bless you.
All other religions of the world teach that YOU need to do what you can in all your power to outweigh bad deeds in your life to avoid wrath from the divine. Christianity is THEE only “religion” that boldly proclaims that man can’t do anything to save himself from God’s wrath for falling short of His perfection set for man to abide by and is eternally doomed, however, God also provides mercy, forgiveness, and the only way out of eternal suffering, by placing faith and trust in a savior, the only savior who lived up to the perfection that man will never be able to fulfill, and that man is Jesus Christ.
Follow your heart of hearts — your conscience.
Your conscience tells you what is true.
If Supernatural occurrences has been an occurrence in the Bible times and the only religion we have witnessed supernatural occurrences is in the Catholic Church, then the true religion is found within the Catholic faith
1. Look at the claims of each proclaimer.
2. Look at their lifestyle and persona.
3. Jesus makes sense to me.
Ephesians 4:5 says there is only ONE faith, all others are counterfeits If the faith you are following is not found in scripture, then your faith is dead. 1 Corinthians 1:10
Ephesians 4:4 says there is only one body. If your church is not found in scripture, in name and doctrine, then your church is a counterfeit.
THE KEY TO KNOW THE TRUTH IS THE WORD OF GOD
John 8:31-32 KJV
[31] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
[32] And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
The Bible…the Word of God proves itself as God’s true Word.
Don’t follow your hear. In proverbs the heart is known as deceitful. Check our Cold Case Christianity where an atheist homicide detective used the evidence to point him in the right direction.
“Allah is the best of deceivers”
Nabeel Qureshi was a devout Muslim, he tested Jesus Christ and His claims and then tested his own original beliefs in the same way – Nabeel died a Christian. It’s worth listening to him on YouTube and reading his book Seeking Allah Finding Jesus where he describes the years he spent truly searching for the truth.
There is one thing most religion rely on it’s their book, see what they say in their book is consistant with the what they say.
Was Jesus consistant with the bible,
Was mohammed consistant with the qur’an.
Look at the evidence I don’t have enough Faith to be an athlest by Frank turek and check out cold case Christianity by James Warren Wallace
Jesus is the ONLY one who died for us and then rose from the dead. It’s not about religion. It’s about a personal relationship with God, through His son, Jesus Christ??
It’s not just about what people believe or claim, it’s actually more about what they refute and reject that identifies who is of God and who is a claim of God.
Christ ended Theocracy so no Religion, denomination, cult or any brand one likes to identify God as, has any authority, authenticity or validation whatsoever.
Christ said I am the Way the Truth and the life and none can come to the Father but through me.
What is not understood here?
Christ said my kingdom is not of this world but the kingdom to come.
What is not understood here.
Unless one is born of water and of Spirit they can not and will not enter the kingdom of God.
What is not understood here?
Christ is the head of the Spiritual Christ and the Body of Christ is the Church made up of many members all over the world who are reconciled to the light of life itself, Himself, Christ Jesus.
Any who says something different and wants to assert their authority of mankind to gain position, privilege, wealth and power to control the masses is a liar and deception, a murderer of souls.
When I was a young man, I was around people of different belief systems.
My grandfather, that I loved and dearly respected was Muslim. He would carry on in that belief to his death.
Two of my best friends were atheists.
Another relative was Mormon.
Etc…
I was at a place in my life where I just wanted the truth. I was tired of asking people and only getting answers that barely scratched the surface.
I wasn’t sure about God and I certainly wasn’t sure about any specific religion. I just wanted the truth even if I ended up believing there was no god.
My first attempt was to narrow my thoughts through the study of history. History disqualified some belief systems, for me.
Right up front, along with looking at history, I was also reading what a lot of the well written atheists had to say.
From there I got interested in what a some different belief systems claimed. I wanted to know what their specific claims were, in their own writings – their own words. I read a lot and still do.
Next for me was to look specifically at the founder of some of the different belief systems. I believe we can learn a lot by studying the founders of a belief system. Please excuse my use of the word ‘founder’, I’m not being disrespectful but am just trying to use a proper descriptive.
I also tried to look at the actions of the followers of different belief systems, but even back then I found that wasn’t always a great way to see truth. We find ‘good’ and ‘bad’ people within every belief.
Later in life I would get interested in science and philosophy, as far as finding the relationship to different belief systems.
I enjoy studying religion and continue to look at things from many different angles, although I’ve been settled on what I believe for a long time now. I don’t mean that to say that I know everything there is to know. I think, and hope, I still have a lot to learn. At times I’m more amazed by what I didn’t know that I didn’t know. ?
These days, it’s a lot easier to have more information available instantly. We can have most books delivered to our home within a few days.
At this point, I consider myself highly biased. Back then, I really don’t believe I had much bias, as far as what I would end up believing about God.
I’m not sure my answer will really help you, but overall I think we should feel free to truly ‘test’ a belief system and find the truth.
Criteria is always the Bible and Jesus
How about the accuracy and fulfillment of prophecies as criterion?
If you’re ever saved by the blood of Jesus you’ll know which religion is true. Believe the gospel and seek after God. He will draw you to salvation. When the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin, trust Jesus as your Saviour and receive the Holy Spirit into your heart. Then you will know.
Can I refer you all to prof. Ravi Zacharias on YouTube for his take (reason) why Christianity is the one faith/religion above all the others ? And NO other worldview/option can match that ?
I wanted to know the Truth, the History of our world, whatever that turned out to be and so undertook my own research many years ago, testing all belief systems including evolution. I put all through a series of tests for Historical Accuracy, Archaeological Verification, Scientific validation, Prophetical Accuracy. The world religions and belief systems including evolution came tumbling down one by one, all except Christianity, and then my search moved to Biblical Reliability and ‘Who is Jesus Christ’? In Him I found the Truth. It took me quite a time however in recent years with the internet, I have since come across many people who had the same approach.
Yes, Ravi Zacharias on YouTube would be good for you to listen too.
Eventually my search moved from an Academic basis where my head was satisfied, to a Faith Basis in my heart, where I repented of my failures/sins before a Holy God and accepted the gift salvation through Jesus Christ who took the punishment that I deserved that I may go free, and be reunited with our Lord.
Find contradictory claims in each belief system and follow the evidence where it leads.
The Word of God is Truth!
John 17:17
Proof of the truth of Christianity is Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the grave overcoming death. Witnessed by over 500 people! He was raised from the dead and for 40 days — not 40 hours, not four days — for 40 days, they lived with Him and walked with Him, with overwhelming proof that He’d been raised from the dead.”
Death burial resurrection is all there is to believe
The only one that you can validate and have falsifiable evidence of.
The next issue, do you want to believe that or continue to suffer Cognitive Dissonance?
1. Which religion were you born into? That’s probably the right one
2. Question that religion using the basis of your religion as the standard for truth
3. Now you know which one was true.
Read the Bible. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Logic and reason the evidence for biblical Christianity is so overwhelming you have to reject logic and reason to not be a christian
