Why is it that I hardly hear white Christians say anything about police killing unarmed black people?

Black cops in ATL kill unarmed black people and national news don’t care.
If white or hispanic people kill a unarmed black person the national news goes crazy.

One thing is acknowledging racism exists and condemning it, another is following the media down the rabbit hole every time. Black on black violence and black shooting whites happens much more often but you never see it on the news because it doesn’t fit their narrative.

It’s wrong. Not ok. This happened in my state. Not all police are bad guys. But I think being a police officer is a career path for some who have a really prideful and domineering spirit.

Let’s make some things clear before people start making a fool of themselves. People who claim BLM acknowledge that all lives matter, the statement just means Black Lives Matter *too*. The people like myself who say BLM never said it’s wrong to be white or white lives don’t matter, it’s just the simple notion that black lives matter as well because for a long time they have been treated like they aren’t.

Do we really have to go through this topic on this group. Jesus don’t see color he sees the heart. Since in the beginning the enemy has stated to divide , from color, to culture, even what family you come from. Read the word of God and understand it. Be part of a change not a history repetition line. It’s been heart breaking to see some of the comments here. Praying for all regardless of what color, culture, cast, or family line you come from.

Lots of different forums. I’m sure there’s one out there pandering to racism if you look for it. My wife is multi racial and grew up in a black neighborhood. She has told me about the areas we’re white people cannot go at all without being murdered. She’s also told me of blacks harassing other blacks because they have less melanin in their skin. There’s racism everywhere even blacks are racist.

I live in New Zealand and we have to have to have a license to own and buy guns. This means that very few have them. I’ve only ever seen police with guns once. It seems like everyone can get them in the US, so cops have to be armed there. Prejudice IS real and denying it or getting defensive wont help. We have a community nearby, mostly black population and they are poorer and have more drug use and crime. It’s not because they are bad. But they have been oppressed and the cycle continues when they are brought up in that environment. So maybe that’s why more are dying where you are too. Oppression and a vicious cycle. Then stigma happens because all some people see is the crime and poverty rates.

I think what the police in Minnesota did to that black man was awful. The cop with the knee on the guys neck should be charged with Manslaughter

You must not know very many white Christians.
This current case is disgusting, but other cases in the past (ahem, Michael Brown…) that caused a massive uproar weren’t what they were portrayed to be.
Unarmed doesn’t mean harmless. As a private citizen, I don’t have to let you physically harm me before I shoot in self-defense and I don’t need to verify you have a weapon. Neither do the police.

There is a lot of hype on this issue in the mainstream media. It seems that every time even an apparent, though not confirmed, case of an unarmed African American individual is killed by a police officer, there is media hysteria as if this is the racist country of privileged hierarchy that confirms the narrative on the left. The counterargument is that black on black crime is far higher than black on white, or white on black, but this is immediately dismissed as a weak attempt at maintaining the privileged status quo. There are even some Christians who believe that we should go so far as to pay reparations to African-Americans for slavery by our ancestors. Is there racism in America? No doubt. But have we even elected an African-American as president? Don’t we have African-Americans in all aspects of our society – CEO’s, politicians, athletes, doctors, and lawyers? Speaking clearly and sympathetically about this issue is important. There is a lot of racism and hatred in certain communities. Any cop will affirm that. As Christians, we need to have the clear view that we are all one in Christ. Fortunately, I have been in communities all my life that affirmed this. The resentment needs to stop with each one of us. Church on Sunday is the billboard for love and unity among ethnic, racial, economic, and political divides.

God didn’t spend His precious Holy time crafting skin color into DNA to be a label for hatred to run freely.
No, this isn’t a cop out for white supremacy. This isn’t a cover up. That police officer stands condemned in Gods sight if he doesn’t accept the forgiveness of Jesus. And that officer is facing his earthly consequences now and will burn in hell if he remains unrepentant.
If you murder someone and stand unrepentant, you will face your consequences in this life or the next.
You can’t run from God.
What you can run from is the idea that racism is another tool used and perpetuated by the media to blind you from the real issue: statism.
The current state of government needs to be abolished in return for a healthy government based on Gods appointment. But that can’t happen if you’re pouring your holy hatred into racism and not statism. Putting energy into shifting the system in Gods favor is the only chance you have at this no longer happening. But guess what? Nobody stand united. Everyone’s a slave to what the state feeds. So people kill people. And it’s televised.
Ultimately, nothing but the Grace and Love of God will change this. Period.

Don’t see people in terms of skin color or skin type. I was always taught that is what the racists do, so stayed away from that type of negativity.

It’s messed up, we know it! It’s just we are tired of the media taking the one example to make us all feel like we have to apologize for being white or make it seem like the majority of white people or white police are racist or kill black people. I have talked about to it before and posted on Facebook BUT I AM HESITANT because I don’t want to spread the hysteria. That’s me and I know that is the same for some of my friends.

I would love the media to film downtown Chicago on the weekends. More deaths there (black on black) than the entire Iraq war in less time. I don’t know about this case being typical (it is awful and needs the highest degree punishment) but many of you get into the details lead to more nuanced views of the situation. I spent 1/2 my youth in South Central as my great grandma was the only white woman in the area. We had friends. We were as poor as most folks there. We and they had no problems. It was gangs mainly. The police? I’ve known many- most good but some shouldn’t be or have been on the force. I knew one cop as racist as can be- but he was racist against anyone not white. I really believe white people see and understand. But politics always gets in there unfortunately.

Rather than looking at skin color…look at their hearts and pray for them to come to know Christ.
