You pray for relationship with God. Sure you can ask for things but God is not your cosmic bellboy. I would not look to people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness for answers about God.

I don’t think so. It is not our place to judge the hearts of fellow Christians. I don’t even watch sports, nor do I have any care at all about them, but I will not judge my brother who may pray for his preferred sports team. I would say that anyone who prays concerning anything does in deed take his faith seriously, even if I were to question his priorities.

I am praying bigger. Praying for some money to buy my own team.

It depends on the reason. If you are willing to give all your daily practices to God, then yes; if you only do it for football, then no. At least that’s one outline for a typical situation concerning prayer in sports. God knows the heart. Be sincere about humor and play and doctrine and reality and Master Jesus’ goodness.

Our lives are made up of simple pleasures that God would have us enjoy. God created Adam and Eve and walked with them in the cool of the evening, He wants to be a part of everything g we do. Jesus turned the water into tea, no, he turned it into wine so everyone at the party could really enjoy!!

One of the best King’s of Israel was said to lay out his plans daily before the lord and pray over them. Likewise I pray over all things big and small. At the end of the day I believe God prefers us in prayer over not.

When you see football players praying on the sidelines, it’s usually going to be praying that nobody gets hurt, and sportsmanship abounds for both teams. And probably some thanks and wonder that our bodies can perform in such amazing ways in the pursuit of athletic endeavors.

Those that pray for a winning game may just be babes in Christ. We are urged to bring all our cares to the Lord but be thoughtful in your prayers.

I wonder who God, Jesus and the HS were rooting for at the superbowl. Do you think they throw superbowl parties there? Who brings what? How BIG is the big screen they watch it on? Do you think they have DVR OR do you really think that it’s necessary? Do you REALLY believe that fumbles aren’t “planned”?
