Good evening, and welcome to #ourCOG Daily Brief for March 12, 2026.

In today’s U.S. and world news, we’re closely following developments concerning Iran. Despite expectations, Iran is refusing to capitulate, instead pursuing a strategy to raise the costs of conflict so high that the U.S. and Israel might reconsider further attacks. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently aimed for regime change in Iran, though some analysts question the realism of this goal, emphasizing the need for a practical exit strategy. The ongoing conflict also highlights a challenge for President Trump: despite his rejection of globalization, the world economy’s continued reliance on international links is undeniable amidst the Iran war.

Turning our attention to recent videos, we’ve seen inspiring messages like “God Isn’t Finished With You” from Jentezen Franklin, a deep dive into “Dead Religion vs Living Faith The Difference,” and a powerful reflection on “The Moment God Transforms Your Entire Life.”

From our FaithNews RSS feed, we learn that a “Church Planting Intensive Is In Session,” the “‘Jesus Wells’ Campaign Focuses on ‘World’s Thirstiest Communities’,” a ministry recently “Wins ‘Best Children’s Feature’ at Movieguide® Awards,” and another “Church Planting Intensive Is Set for March 11-13.”

In prophecy news, the Middle East remains a focal point. On March 12, the Israeli army launched new “large-scale” strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Beirut, vowing “great force,” while Iran’s Revolutionary Guards reportedly struck a Liberia-flagged vessel. Just yesterday, on March 11, experts warned that Iran’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is “obsessed” with end-times prophecies, believing himself to be a prophesied figure paving the way for the Mahdi. Looking back to March 10, we also revisited the historical significance of “Cyrus’s gold” and how wealthy outsiders funded Jerusalem’s rebirth over 2,500 years ago. And on March 9, some interpretations linked the current war with Iran, being prosecuted by President Trump alongside Israel, directly to prophetic fulfillments concerning the coming Messiah.

Finally, in Jewish history, looking at This Day, March 13, in the year 624, Islamic forces under Muhammad were victorious at the Battle of Badr, a pivotal moment for civilization and Jewish communities. Later, in 1202, Mieszko III, the Duke of Greater Poland, who famously employed Jews in his mint and even featured Hebraic markings on coins, passed away. And in 1245, Pope Innocent IV issued a letter to the Mongols, asking them to cease attacking Christian nations – the very same Pope who had ordered the mass burning of Jewish books, including priceless copies of the Talmud.
