Question for Church of God pastors. How much money can you distribute from the church funds without congregational approval?

You have a church budget and that is approved church funds however if an expense arises that is not a budget item is there a limit before church in conference approves it?

Were you restricted to any discretion? Serious question – wanting to understand!

  3. 1000 but after that had approval from my board

Could you give 1000 at a denomination meeting to support a state project?

  5. All I had to do was ask my board who was easy to text and yea or nay up to a certain limit which was much higher than 1000

Do you think the executive council members did that in the meeting. They donated $100,000 in 18 different amounts from their church treasures, some 25,000 other $5,000 totaling more than $100,000. Did they have to text their churches?

I was discussing Bellevue Baptist on a page several years ago and they told me about Adrian Rogers paying a former fired staff member $500,000 dollars to keep the man from going to court to sue the church. He did this without congregational approval. The fired staff member knew too much about other staff members.

I ask about him doing that w/o church approval in conference. This was the stated position of the church. I was told you didn’t ask Dr Rogers questions like that.

This is a way of church life today.

I did do some research about this law suite and it was true Dr Rogers settled out of court.
