Personally I don’t think the two witnesses will be literal Old Testament people like Elijah, Moses, or Enoch. I think the two witnesses described in revelation 11 are actually symbols for the church, as the witnesses are described in this way: “these are the two olive trees and two lamp stands that stand before the Lord” (revelation 11:4). earlier in revelation we learn that the 7 churches that John is writing too are also called “lamp stands” (rev 1:20). So in apocalyptic, revelation talk, lamp stands are meant to be churches. We see Jesus talk about His disciples being “lamps” in the gospels as well, so I think there is good biblical support for this! I think the two witnesses John is talking about here are actually meant to be symbols of the witness of the church!
Of course I recognize that there are multiple interpretive camps when it comes to revelation. Those were just my thoughts ?? carry on!
Remember the writers might have insertted the inner circle thought. Probably, Jesus didn’t show them, they might have assumed they were Moses and Elijah. The reason being no picture of Moses nor Elijah. Except it all goes again to the Father revealing to them this is Elijah, Moses and Jesus just as you are the son of the living God said by Peter.

I always wondered “why those two” I suspect there is allot more to their talk. Perhaps they were best buds in heaven. I heard it said, that they were discussing his death. I don’t think any of us know. A mystery known to God.

Arguments Moses and Elijah beginning and end of English canon do not wash with Hebrew canon end being 2 Chronicles.
Identity of the two witnesses not stated. They trust in the God of Moses and Elijah but that does not mean it to be those two men.
Enoch and Elijah are insisted because they were raptured. This argument doesn’t fly because a whole generation in the rapture won’t die.
