That talks about the 12 tribes of Israel. If you read after that in Revelation 7:9 it goes on to say, ” behold a great multitude which no one could number of all nations, tribes & peoples”.

144,000 sealed from every tribe of the Israelites.These 144,000 are on the earth …
Then after this account:
Revelation 7:9–10 (HCSB): After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice…
These are those standing before God …

They sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, but no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, since they remained virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were redeemed from humanity as the firstfruits for God and the Lamb.
Revelation 14:3-4 CSB -
Read your Bible well. It does mention the 144,000 as coming from the 12 tribes of Israel, it also talks of many more others from every tribe and tongue. Diligently read your Bible and don’t just hear what people say. The book of Revelation is clear on that subject.

The Bible teaches that they are 12000 Jews from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, sealed during the tribulation period separated to preach Jesus to their fellow Jews. It’s so clearly written that leaves no room for misinterpretation (unless you are a JW).

Here’s a thought. If 12 Jews equipped with the Gospel changed the world, what would a 144K Jews armed with the truth do? It’s God’s redemptive love that is tangible.

Revelation 7 is clear: the 144,000 are Jewish male Israelites who are alive at that latter time on THIS earth that are sealed and are God’s witnesses. They are believers at that time that are STILL ON EARTH. At the same time, there are MULTITUDES IN HEAVEN from EVERY tribe and nation! So it appears that rapture has happened by Revelation 5. The believers are all in heaven, whether raptured or dead, EXCEPT the 144,000 and the people alive on earth who still convert to Christianity after this point in time!

If only the 144,00 where going to heaven that would mean that Jesus only gave his life for the 144,00 what happens to the rest? Better yet where does that leave John 3:16

We need to read the Bible in full, not only part of it check Revelation 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Also bear in mind that the Bible give us just a sample, there is much, much more than has not been shown to us, just a taste we have been given.

The number 144,000 has nothing to do with how many end up in heaven – rather, that’s the number of virgin male Israelites are believers in Jesus Christ in the End Times right before Christ’s 2nd Coming.

The 144 000 Jews are going to be saved, believing Jesus is the Messiah and they are going to be evangelists in the Tribulation, sealed by God for their protection and they will preach the gospel around the world. There will be 12 000 Jews from every Isrealite tribe, which will make up 144 000. Just read the Bible, the Bible has the answers, the correct answers by the way.

My personal feeling is that the 144,000 are those Christians who will escape Jerusalem before it is destroyed by the Romans in 70AD.

Its not literal 144000 is the multiplecation of Gods kingdom. 144 is a multiple of 12 and 12 in numerology is the number of the kingdom.

whenever you see fulfilled prophecies where numbers are involved the number prophesied and the number observed differ slightly

and a thousand (myriad) of those…..

Revelation says in that same scenario that in another area there’s a number no man can number, and they are those who washed in the blood of the lamb.?
It’s important for Satan to have one believe that Heaven even isn’t an option, and that Hell isn’t even real. See that? Then you have those who wanna say speaking in tongues is required to prove you are saved, but baptism is frivolity. Then there are those who glorify Mary on the same level or above Christ.
Beware of false prophets on that broad road to hell. ?
