In the early sixties our Church of God at McMinnville, Tennessee, Locust Street, celebrated the Lord’s supper around a table spread in the sanctuary at the altar. There was a setting for with one seat remaining empty. Twelve were served and then twelve more until all had been served. Folk would tarry at the altar awaiting their time.
