Jesus didn’t owe Satan anything. He paid it on our behalf to God.

  10. Andrew John Laatz says:

Jesus laid His life down for a Witness to all. He did not give His life to Lucifer, God gave up His Life and God took it back.
“Jesus! Your Father calls”. Gabriel did not bring the life of Jesus from the Father. Jesus had His own Life in Eternal death!

  11. R.M. Wilkins says:

Jesus died on the cross pay for your and my sins only Jesus could pay the price only Jesus could fulfill the law and did fulfill the law Matthew 5 17 also second Corinthians 5 21 just a couple of places to start Jesus died was buried and rose again according to first Corinthians 15 one through six

  12. Terry Thompson says:

The Old Testament is best to answer that question. Look at it as a model of things to come, then read about sacrificial laws. Christ is “the lamb of God”. This has NOTHING to do with his demeanor, he was anything but mild I his ministry. The lamb indicates he was a sacrifice, according to Old Testament laws. When Issac asked Abraham “where is our sacrifice” Abraham’s response tells it all…”God will provide [himself] a sacrifice”. I take that as a double entendres.

Satan has nothing to do with His sacrifice, not is he the one that sends people to Hell

  15. Jefferson D. Thatcher says:

Our God is a God of love but He is also a God of justice. The love of God provided a final sacrifice for sin (His Son Jesus) to the His justice. The price that was due was paid in full.

  16. Bob Jones says:

Silly question it was to God if you was going to give Himself over to Satan He would have done it during the 40 days in the wildness during His temptation

  17. Jo Kothenbeutel says:

Jesus was the only sacrifice that could work. The blood of animals did not wash away our sins. Only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins. Without the shedding of his blood our sins would not have been washed away.

Thats where the power is. Its in the Blood of Jesus. Not in the water. There is no power in the water.

The water in baptism just symbolicly washes away our sins.

The literal washing away of our sins happened because of the blood of Jesus.

To fulfill the law. No forgiveness without blood sacrifice. Except God trumps the law forever which makes it a permanent solution.

  25. Mike Davis says:

Well to be a real sacrifice he would have had to have died. According to the bible he had a bad weekend and then went to heaven to reign.

I do wish people would stop bashing people who ask questions. Can we just agree that not everyone has the exact same amount of knowledge?

The correct answer is to God. He represented the sin that had to be dealt with.
