  1. Darryl Sylvester Hart says:

None. They were the first humans.

  2. Melissa Keoprasa says:

I still wonder who Cain married when he was disowned.

  3. Yeshua Elijah says:

Well, there are speculations that Adam and eve were not the first beings on this planet.

There are some in occultic circles that believe eve was not the first woman neither.

According to them it was Lilith. I will not get into her story because its long but, the bible mentions Lilith directly and indirectly in two separate parts of the bible.

Also some believe that cain found his wife from the offspring of other humans that were already here outside the garden of Eden.

Then some believe that cains wife was actually one of his sisters and that since it was the beginning of civilization it was permitted at that time to sleep with your sister or relative to populate the earth.

Keep in mind the law was not introduced until Moses.

  4. Bob Jones says:

There was no human existence before Adam and Eve. Read the creation account in Genesis

  5. Nathan Christopher Broome says:

    Never was

  6. Donna Mcgann says:

That is also my question. Genesis 1 says that he created man on the sixth day. It does not say he created a man. It then says he rested on the seventh day. Chap 2 then says that he created a man and placed him in the garden. Therefore the garden was a place on the earth not the earth as a whole.

  7. Donna Mcgann says:

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
    The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
    And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed

  8. Eric Jose says:

What do you call a person before the 1st man? is it’s called nothing.

  9. Matthew Burns says:

Archaeological evidence supports humans have been around some 300000 years, with other hominid species going back even further. Genesis 2:4-7 is a summary of Day 3 to 6, the earth cooling around 4 billion years ago (hot water, being light, rose to the surface, causing a mist to form the oceans and water the earth) until God has formed mankind out of the dust of the earth. This process we now call evolution. God chose a man, separated him from others and put him in a secure area called the Garden of Eden. Cain expressed knowledge of the existence of other humans when he said they would kill him if they find him. It is known in scientific findings that a lone wanderer would likely be killed by other humans. Scripture also says he found a wife, long before Adam and Eve had Seth and then proceeded to have other sons and then daughters. The male descendents of Adam are the sons of God, the daughters of men are the female descendents of other humans. They would later become bullies and tyrants, a.k.a. the nephilim. YECs is a false interpretation of Scripture, whereas an old earth perfectly syncs with the Genesis account if you look deeper into the text and are willing enough to have your previous views challenged. Day 4 for example doesn’t use the Hebrew word for create, rather the sun, moon and stars became visible in the heavens because photosynthesis produced oxygen which in turn cleared the atmosphere, allowing the celestial bodies to become visible. When people read Paul they fail to realise that he did not mention the Tree of Life. It was the Tree of Life that gave Adam unnatural longevity. Adam came from dust, he was human in every way, but could technically live forever if he didn’t lose access to the Tree of Life. Having lost access to the Tree of Life he would continue the natural path, that is to die, from dust to dust. But his sin resulted in all of us losing that opportunity, hence we all stand condemned to die because access to the Tree of Life has been blocked. Also, if Adam didn’t have the sinful human nature then how did he sin? Adam wasn’t created as an eternal being, but rather he came from dust and was given the opportunity to be sustained forever via the Tree of Life. Because answering bla bla bla and pointing to the typical YEC websites that everybody knows already, please go read the many, many books by theistic evolutionists. So what if we share a common ancestor with baboons. Scripture often compares humans and animals, for example Solomon did.

  10. Danielle Herod says:

No. Adam and Eve were first. Even scientists are beginning to indicate that DNA traces back to one female somewhere in the middle east region.

  11. Gary Micheal Epping says:

Max Gooche Well now, there is verse 2!

  12. Rick Holtsclaw says:

The Scriptures tells us that “…from the beginning” God created them male and female and Genesis 1 says that “In the beginning God created; therefore, the Holy Spirit tells you that human life began with Adam and Eve on the 6th-Day of Creation and you will either believe what the Holy Spirit has provided or you won’t.

  13. Dell Norte Cabugon Jr. says:

There is human existence before Adam and Eve because Cain got her wife in the place of Nod. Because Eve didnt bore a woman at that time. Never say his sister.

  14. Dell Norte Cabugon Jr. says:

Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.
    Genesis 4:16 NKJV

  15. Roy Sommerey says:

    Irrelevant to me…..

  16. Donna Mcgann says:

Thank you for your help I understand genesis and Adam and Eve better. I see that Adam and Eve were the only ones God created and they had many children but Cain and Abel were mentioned to show that God detests murder. And Cain married a sister because Adam and Eve lived long enough to have a unknown amount of children. Therefore the beginning of man kind.

  17. Michael Schisler says:

There was none, or the bible is all fake.

  18. Keaton Rood says:

One thing is for sure. They were the first image bearers

  19. Lyn Zee says:

That’s the problem with man; thinks too much. ?

But seriously though, any believer, from baby believer to a seasoned one who reads the Bible, would know better than to believe humans existed before humans were created. ❤️

  20. Johny Goodwin says:

    Refuted in one verse;

The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. (Genesis 3:20, ESV)

  21. Jared Gabrielse Morris says:

    There was none

  22. C.J. Bouril says:
  23. David Butler says:

Adam and Eve is a mythological story.

  24. Brian Wilson says:

Studies in population genetics show there never could have been a first pair of humans.

  25. Aaron Galloway says:

Explain why that mankind has been around since somewhere at 4000 bc but scientists find human remains millions of years old. In not questioning human existence before Adam to disprove anything. I’m just curious the contradiction with it

  26. Andy Gray says:

It’s possible, but for theological reasons we basically treat Adam and Eve as the first even if they weren’t the first humanoid people around.

  27. Mike Faulkner says:

No. They were the first on the 6th day of world existence sone 6,000ish years ago

    No.

  30. Tito Kingsley Ampiah says:

There were and it was when Lucifer was the god of this Earth till he made an attempt to overthrow God and got banished.

  31. Rob Williams says:

If you read a lot of ancient creation myths from Mesopotamia, you’ll see that the 2 creation stories in the Bible share a lot of similarities with others, especially Canaanite creation stories. That coupled with the fact that genetics seems to indicate there’s no way a population could come from just 2 people there’s pretty conclusive evidence the 2 Biblical accounts of creation are myths. Now I argue they are myths that are true in that they reveal the nature of God, but they are not literally true. They are good poetry that tell us about God and our natures.

  32. Jack Parks says:

*If* human life existed before Adam and Eve, they did not bear the Imago Dei.

  33. Nikki Sheppick says:

Bearing in mind, that “speculations” (things not founded upon the Holy Scriptures) is not sound doctrine regarding the discussion of any Bible based Apologetic topic – 5 “Casting down imaginations (human speculations), and every high thing …. that exalteth itself …. against the knowledge (Wisdom/Word) …. of God, and bringing into captivity …. every thought …. to the obedience …. of Christ (Who is the Holy Word of God Incarnate);” – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Corinthians+10&version=NASB

  34. Mike Matuszewski says:

This blog series doesn’t do a bad job of threading the needle of what to do concerning the findings of modern science and the doctrinal necessity of Adam and the fall:

  35. Linda Bolen says:

Adam was the first man contrary to some people’s fantasies.
    1Cor. 15:45 The
[first man] Adam became a living soul…

  36. Wendy Beard says:

The Bible is CLEAR. Adam was the FIRST MAN EVER CREATED in Genesis 2 and 1 Corinthians 15. It is also clear in these same two chapters that God created him WITHOUT any biological parents or pre-existent life forms. He was created perfectly and as an adult. So was Eve. We also know that not only are they the FIRST human beings, but also that ALL OTHER HUMAN BEINGS that have EVER existed descended from them. We know this because of Genesis 3:20 regarding Eve, and several references in the New Testament of Adam as the literal physical ancestor of all people.

  37. Nikki Sheppick says:

Let no one confuse you, including the Book of Enoch, which some have delved into. Stand fast and research the Holy Scriptures of the Bible as the Bereans did, being more noble-minded, despite anything heard/read, etc. …. and only believe what God’s recorded Word says over all. How to over-come all evil? Rev. 12:10-12, KJV

  38. David Ott says:

    non existant

  39. Corey Matthew says:

There was no human creation before Adam and Eve

  40. Daniel Otache says:

Understand the words before Adam and Eve, that means before me and you. very good it was only God who is and now forever and will ever be that does exist.

  41. Kate Marie Wendi says:

    There weren’t anyone before them.

  42. John Soulliere says:

    No humans.

  43. John Calogrides says:

Tis a concept foreign to Scripture and highly suspect as a doctrine from….elsewhere

  44. Walter Pastor Falcon says:

Human no but fallen angels probably that’s who i would think cain was afraid of

  45. James Clary says:

Jesus made it clear that God created Adam and Eve at the beginning of time. We do well to believe Him since He was there

  46. Nikki Sheppick says:

That which is written in the Holy Scriptures, preserved, retained, and maintained for God’s own …. blessed are those who listen to God’s Word over all, even as the Bereans did. Such are noble-minded, Amen and Amen. <3 <3 <3

  47. Jongjin Kim says:

Do I have any reason to take the absurd way to imagine as I see fit?

  48. Ugo Torcasio says:

You mean gap theory? That there might be a very long gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. This world was apparently destroyed and God re-created in the six days described in Genesis. Nice theory but its not backed up by the Bible. Not enough to make a doctrine.

  49. Madison Willoughby says:

There were no people before Adam and Eve.

  50. Matthew Ellis says:

I’m not atheistic evolutionist, which it would seem the article is in argument for. I don’t believe there were any. I am however an old earth creationist and believe that likely all hominids prior to man in the fossil records were creatures that while soulish (possessing mind will and emotion, like all mammals do) even the Neanderthal lacked the spirit. This is what set Adam and Eve apart from every single other organism created by God! They had the capacity for spiritual life!

  51. Jay Excell says:

    There wasn’t any

  52. Alfred Lloyd says:

You oughta be ashamed, a WOLF in sheep’s clothing!

  53. Jbonz Ybañez Bontilao says:

Theres no human existence before adam and eve.The human race started from them.

  54. Rudy Jenkins says:

No. Adam was the first man. Eve the first woman

  55. David Buyna says:

    Nope

  56. Happy Akande says:

    1 Corinthians 15:45
    And so it is written, the FIRST MAN ADAM was made a living soul;

The Bible calls Adam the first Man. We must follow the Bible or the lies of the devil.

Secondly, the Bible calls Eve the Mother of all living.
