Whatever. If you are a regenerated, Holy Spirit sealed adopted child of the Father just go get Baptized. It’s your first public announcement that your life now belongs with Christ.
As an ordained Minister, I would use full immersion and “Father, Son and Holy Spirit.”. If someone else just says Father and Christ, or simply Christ Jesus it will not matter in terms of where you stand before God. Christians who split hair over the minor details drive me nuts. Can’t see the forest for the trees.

The term, “in the name of” depicts, by what authority are you doing this. The soldiers say I capture this town in the name of Rome. Or in the name of Caesar. Or I arrest you in the name of the Queen. So Peter said to those around who were wondering, was he baptizing in the name of Judaism, or in the authority of the Pharisees, was he doing this on his own, who gives him the right to do this??? Repent and be baptised in the name (authority God gave) Jesus…..
Verses 40 says and with many other words did he testify. I’m sure people ask questions as they do today. The authority Jesus gave in the Gospel was baptise in the name of the Father, And of the SON, And of the HOLY GHOST , you can’t get any more authoritative than that. -

It’s a Oneness belief that where it says in the NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost that the NAME is Jesus Christ. They believe that Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son and Jesus is the Holy Ghost and this is complete heresy.

I always did both and stopped the argument there. Since the Greek prepositions are interchangeable, I said, “I baptize you INTO the Name of Jesus Christ IN the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit”.

Number one. There is a misconception of what doing it in the name of means. Number two Jesus said to do it in the name of the son the father and the Holy Spirit.

So what does it mean to do it in the name of? Well it means to do it in their place I arrest you in the Name of the King I’m doing a service for the king I’m doing what the king ordered I am in the stead of the king I am taking the place of the king that is what it means in the name of so we are representatives of the father and the Son and the Holy Spirit when we baptize people it is not about saying those three words when the person is under water what comes out of our mouths does not affect their salvation

Personally I do not ascribe the name Trinity to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All converge in One… Yeshua. The only name given by which men are to be saved.

This where the reality of the trinity comes in. The trinity is just the 3d of GOD.

A baptism is spiritual not physical…so if man thinks I n.v is, then there is no true baptism

Doesnt matter. Jesus told them to baptize in the name of the Father, son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). But the disciples baptized in Jesus name (Acts 2:38). They are one in the same. Have your preference but it doesn’t matter which you choose and don’t say one way is right over the other. It’s biblical to do both.

Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit as Matt 28 describes. The Trinity isn’t a name, it’s a concept.

After Jesus gave the great commission, they went on to baptize in Jesus name. Acts 2:38, acts 8:12, acts 10:48, Galatians 3:27 (roughly), Romans 6:3. The only place you see of baptism in the name of the father son and holy spirit is when Jesus commissions them but they turn around and baptise in Jesus name. Modalistic monarchians take this to show that the gospel writers understood Jesus to be, at least deeply within his personhood, God as one person but personified in flesh as Jesus.
So yeah, oneness believers use this to support their conclusion that God is ultimately one person and that Jesus is the father’s spirit personified in the flesh.
Trinitarians unfortunately have to come up with some explanation of these scriptures and explain why they apparently didn’t follow Christ’s instruction or at the very least, explain why they recorded scripture in the way that they did. -
Whatever. It’s not some magic incantation.its your outward expression of your inward change. However if you are getting baptized in a church that cant use a trinity formula because they dont believe in it….run from that heresy… Make sure whoever is baptizing you can say the nicean creed with complete comfort.

There is no argument at all pertaining to this…we are commanded to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28 19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

It’s should be in the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ is the name of God, Father, Son and Spirit are just His titles. Use His name.

I just learned that in the Didache, 3 baptisms were required. 1 in the name of the Father 2 in Jesus name and 3 the Holy Spirit. That was a post apostolic teaching.

Worry more about the heart behind the baptism instead of whether you baptized by Christ only or by Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we focus way to much on the forest but not enough on the tree.
