Part of me feels that one of the many driving forces behind many people’s objections to the Christian God is a misunderstanding of who God is. God is a metaphysical being that has these eight attributes according to Thomas Aquinas: simplicity, perfection, goodness, infinity, ubiquity, immutability, eternity and unity. I just saw a comment where a Muslim started speaking about the Trinity and how it’s supposedly logically inconsistent for several reasons. However, at the heart of his objections was a misunderstanding on not only the doctrine of the Trinity but on the being of God. If we would first defend Christianity against countless objections from many sides we must first understand how God is and what He is so that we can answer people’s questions in relation to it.

    One of the problem with Muslims too is their habit of using the Quran to try to correct Christian beliefs.

    You don’t have to be a Muslim to not believe in a trinity. It’s not taught in scripture and neither should we. We do damage to Christianity teaching such confusion that can’t be proven by scripture. One Lord One Spirit One God Father all in all. Even Jesus was clear: the Father is the only God. Jesus even said the Spirit in him was the Father. Why such perversions: past false teachings past down. People who say God has three personalities or Heads has not read Isaiah carefully. There’s one Almighty. One Lord of the Sabbath. One First and Last. One Creator by himself.

    The heart of Understand God stsrts elsewhere than trinity. That not how we came to know him and love Him is it. It Jesus. We did not learn philosophy first But God’s. Live in Christ. The simple Bible stories in Sunday school. And the simple songs. NESIS Lo es me Thieu know for the Bible Gels Me so. We first know God’s nature through those Bible stories and then demonstrates through our fare takers love of us, especially our parents.

    Hebrews 1

    1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

    Hebrews 1

    8 But of the Son he says,

    “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever,
    the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
    9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
    therefore God, your God, has anointed you
    with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”

    10 And,

    “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands;
    11 they will perish, but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment,
    12 like a robe you will roll them up,
    like a garment they will be changed.
    But you are the same,
    and your years will have no end.”

    I could be wrong, but I think I’m more basic question would be, how do we know a God exists?

    Well said brother in your post…if you have not found the kingdom and all his righteousness through faith be quiet…the bible is not the word of God…it is instruction and answer that lead to the word of God whom is God,if you listen closely you will even find yourself in the scriptures,outstanding book better taught by Holy Spirit or one that has relationship with His Holy Spirit
