After reading several books by some of the more popular atheists and then researching their personal lives I am finding some commonalities in their motivations for attacking God’s existence and goodness. Does anyone else agree, can articulate their impressions? Please only answer if you have read any works by atheists.

Speculations: daddy issues, someone close to the past away, some situation caused hate, and extreme sadness…finally just want to appear smart..the big head syndrome..
I wrote this for a post and then saved it. It’s my experience
I know what it feels like to have God move in your life, I’ve experienced it, I know what it’s like to talk with God, discuss things and have God talk back, I’ve experienced it. I know what it’s like to be prayed for and experience healing, I’ve experienced it, I’ve seen my mum who needed a hip replacement get completely healed and walk around normally for the first time in over a decade… But I also know what it’s like to see my mum come to terms with the fact she only believed she was healed and that her mind played a trick on her, I know what it’s like to feel pain return after a miracle, I know what it’s like to understand the psychology that explains away a relationship I thought I had with God and the perceived miracles that were not a reality but a trick of the mind.
I know what it’s like to know there must be a God because the universe couldn’t create itself, but I know what it’s like to learn that science has proven that the absence of anything requires things to come into existence (https://science.ubc.ca/…/key-part-70-year-old-quantum…)
I know what it’s like to believe that life could not come from non-life but then learn that we’ve created oil-based living cells and we’ve recreated possible environments of the early earth and had greater success than we imagined in creating the organic matter required for life
I know what it’s like to see evolution as the joke that it is, but then be overwhelmed with the evidence for it
I know what it’s like to understand the universe through God, it’s existence, my existence, life itself and more importantly, the meaning of life… And I know what it’s like to have my whole framework for life, meaning, the universe and everything ripped to shreds and have to build it all up from scratch
If I was not a true Christian, nobody ever has been.
The reason an atheist can’t find God is the same reason a criminal does find police.

Atheist have un resolved personal
issues..that they do not want to admit. In denial most of them. Just love to hear themselves talk.
Ive only read the God delusion by Richard Dawkins. He makes a convincing argument but he also thinks the universe just came out of nothing by magic like most atheists. I can’t get my head around that

This is true for many, but we should not make generalisations and speculations about an atheists unbelief.
Dont make the same argument as “you are only a christian because…”
Paul C.Vitz… Professor Emeritus of Physiology at New York University. “Faith of the Fatherless”. Looks at thirteen people who rejected a personal God. O’Hare and Ellis had an Abusive Father. Dawkins experienced sexual abuse from a father like figure at the age of 9 and then was shipped off to boarding school by his distant real father. Dennett’s father died when he was 5. Hitchens had a distant unsuccessful father who lost his wife to an ex-priest.”
Vitz writes “In no case do we find a strong, beloved father with a close relationship with his son or daughter”
Lee A. Kirkpatrick Associate Professor of Psychology “Attachment, Evolution, and the Psychology of Religion” says this, “People reporting avoidance adult-attachment relationships tend disproportionately to describe themselves as atheists or agnostics, consistent with the notion that people lacking a secure mental model of attachment relationships would be unlikely to contemporaneously hold such a model of God or other deities.”
It seems to boil down to the concept of certainties and authority. The authorities compete and don’t agree. They want the freedom to choose or not to choose. Atrait of out western liberalism. And yet if we are to live together we need some common ground and that means authority and the default for that these days is government.
It intrigues me atheist shoot down all forms of answers and all they got is I don’t know. So we are to look at that as a reasonable answer to reality? So put them side by side and tell me which looks more plausible from nothing came everything or from someone came everything. You can only reason from effect back to cause they reason from effect back to nothing from that comes the word non sense

I am an atheist and had no daddy issues or someone close pass away nor fondled by a priest.
I just stood back, looked at my beliefs objectively and realised that I had no basis for such unfalsifiable beliefs.
So you have faith in unfalsifiable beliefs so why isn’t atheism one?
Can I prove that bigfooot or the Loch Ness monster or fairies don’t exist? No.
Yet the lack of any evidence for such beings, including Yahweh, is sufficient for me to dismiss the likelihood of their existence
I find a dead bloodied body, a weapon, fingerprints, an ID dropped on the ground, but deny that a crime took place. This is the logic of atheism.
The forensic evidence for God’s existence is everywhere. DNA contains enough code in each cell to fill books from here to the sun, but the atheist says it was just an accident. Each human cell, each animal, each plant contains irreducible complexity, meaning it could not exist unless it was put together all at once, yet the atheist lives in a fantasy world, whereby this just evolved by chance.
Atheism is a ridiculous fairy story, but millions believe it. Craziness!

What is truly ironic is that Christians believe that everything came from nothing. According to the Book of Genesis, God spoke things into being and they were good.

A great analogy of religion to a non believer:
I can live in a world where the man who lives on the corner, takes his “invisible” horse out for a ride. I’ll smile and step aside when he “gallops” by. After all, he’s not hurting anyone. No harm, right? I know there’s not an invisible horse, but it makes him happy and that’s the important thing. It’s amusing, actually. But if almost everyone in my town starts to ride “invisible” horses, the dynamic changes drastically. Then I am continually stepping aside for them to “ride” through.
They build barns and stables for their “invisible” friends and they don’t pay taxes on these buildings or on anything they buy, that relates to their “invisible” companions. So, I’m paying their share of the taxes and stepping politely aside for them.
As if accommodating their “invisible” buddies in these ways isn’t bad enough, many people want to talk about them. Although they don’t show me pictures, they certainly have a lot of funny stories. Be careful though, they don’t think these stories are funny. They want you to respect their invisible friend and get kind of cranky if you don’t. It gets tricky, because although they are entitled to their beliefs, I am just as entitled to think they are at the very least, childishly delusional. This creates more awkwardness. I am somewhat resistant to stepping aside, paying extra taxes, listening to their stories AND pretending like what they believe is okay. I have limits, I suppose.
A walk through their stables is silent and there is nothing to indicate these invisible creatures actually exist. The building is empty, yet the “riders” enter, talk and carry on like there is something there. They don’t notice the silence, because they simply answer for their “invisible” companions, too. No problem, because they know what their “invisible” friend is thinking and what he wants. It’s almost like watching a puppet show, but with real people.
When I actually have the temerity to ask them to please ride around me occasionally, they wonder why I hate their invisible entities. Any attempt to explain why I can’t be hostile toward something that doesn’t exist, seems to fall on deaf ears. They claim, if I didn’t “hate”, then I would see that invisible creatures do exist. Inevitably comes the challenge to prove that these shy little buddies DON’T exist!! Attempts to explain that non-existence is, well….nothing and can’t be proven, seem beyond their comprehension. I have asked them to prove that aliens, IPU’s, the Almighty Schlogg or Bigfoot DON’T exist, but I’ve had no takers on even one of these choices. It is apparently unfriendly and unloving to tell someone that their invisible friend doesn’t, um….appear to exist.
Somewhere along the way, I find that I’m not smiling as much anymore.
Thank you all for your responses, however I really wasn’t looking for another apologetics debate adnauseam about God’s existence. As stated i was looking for responses from people who have actually read a book or two by a published atheist and was somewhat familiar with that atheists background. So far it appears I have received one response that was an actual answer to my post. If you want to debate go start your own post. Is the issue here comprehension or consideration?!
I believe there is a book called Faith of the Fatherless that deals with that topic
