Growing up in the CoG since a young boy, graduating from Lee with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, I heard much of the atonement of the blood of Christ, the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit, but actually very little of the Doctrine of Sanctification. Dr. Gause dealt somewhat with it in his Systematic Theology class, a small amount in our Christian Thought class, none whatsoever in Dr. Bowdle’s class, and more so in John Sim’s class. Dr. Arrington asked our Greek class to raise their hands if they had experienced sanctification as a second, definite work of grace. But what was real exciting was studying Romans 6:6 in later Greek II.
