John Jernigan was our pastor in my hometown in 1925. It was a tumultuous time for the church and he served as district pastor, literally keeping all the churches going. He got his start in Campaign COG and quickly moved on to be state overseer in Tennessee. The Sparta area is a rugged area and no doubt Jernigan had his share of snake handling experiences. »
