It depends on your eschatological position. For me, as a Post-tribulational Pre-millennialist, after the tribulation events, Jesus would first take up the saints, dead or alive (rapture), then once they’re gathered, Jesus would already show up in the sky together with those whom He previously gathered (second coming)

Rapture is Christ coming to take his church to heaven, second coming is Christ coming with his church from heaven to Judge the world, Rapture is Imminent, it can happen any time; second coming shall be preceded by many Prophecies like 666, great tribulation etc…

What will be the best way to reconcile all the conflicting eschatological views regarding the end times or 2nd coming of Christ. What could be the middle ground in relating to these views?

The Rapture is when Messiah call all the believers to be with Him in heaven. Second coming will be the judgment for all unbelievers which left in this earth. We will be with the Lord in His second coming to judge the world.

The second coming of Christ is a two-fold event. The first event is Christ coming for His church. This is called The Rapture. The second event, is returning with the believers at the battle of Armageddon.

Am of the biblical view that rapture is different from second coming.
Rapture: Though the word rapture is not used in the Bible, it simply means ‘caught up/lift up’ (1 Thessalonians 4:17). This is exactly what “We-believers” have been waiting for. Christ will appear in the clouds (1 Thessalonians 4:17; Matthew 24:30; Revelation 1:7). The dead saints will resurrect in new body, and those alive will have their body transformed and caught up with our Saviour. Note, Christ WON’T TOUCH THE GROUND during rapture. We’ll be transform be to like Him and we’ll be caught up in the air–what a GLORIOUS REUNION!Second coming, on the other hand will be after the seven years in heaven. Christ will come back with His bride “Church” to rule the world for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-4). Satan and his demons will be bound as we reign with Christ and celebrate what we’ve been waiting for.

There is no confusion or disagreement on it at all.
The second Coming is the broad thing (the first was His Birth, Minustry, Death, Burial, Resurrection and Ascension) . The second Coming has two phases; 1. Rapture and 2. Appearing.
At the Rapture, believers are caught up to be with Him in the Sky for the marriage Supper of the Lamb. It concerns only the saints. No else will see Him, talkless of going with Him
After the seven years is over, the Appearing will follow. Jesus will descend physically unto the earth. The battle of the Amagedọn will take place after which, the Millennial Reign (1000 years) on the earth with the saints will take place.

One of the differences is that the rapture only involves the church of Christ, His bride.
In the rapture we meet Christ up in the air to take us to heaven, to our mansions that Jesus promised us.Another difference is that the rapture passages never speak about judments and about a notorious coming like the second coming.
The rapture is also for us to receive inmortals and incorruptible bodies. Why would we receive immortals bodies if we were immediately coming back to earth?
The immortals bodies is for entering heaven that nor flesh or blood can come in or inherent the kingdom of heaven.
In the second coming Jesus Christ comes as a judge to finish His judgments on earth.
Jesus comes all the way down to earth and touches the olives mountain.
In the rapture Jesus stays in the air.Second coming is very notorious and it says that every eye will se Him.
Second coming involves the earth dwellers/the unbelievers and the Jews.
In the second coming down to earth there is no rapture but Jesus gathers all the Jews to Israel and we are coming with Jesus back to earth. It is mentioned that Christ is coming with all His saints.

In the rapture he comes as a thief in the night ( the rest of mankind is not even aware 1 Thesalonians 5:2) and in the second coming every eye shall see him in the sky ( Revelation 1:7).

My salvation is not dependent on how I think the rapture and second coming will occur. God’s word says it so I believe it will happen. My focus in being a Christian should be on telling others about the one true God and trust that he will sort out the details of his word.

Rapture is the belief that the saved will be saved from the 7 year tribulation by being called to God in the air. While I believe the rapture will happen, there is not much biblical support for it. The second coming is a completely different thing. The second coming is Elohim’s endgame for us. Christ will come down, bind satan in a pit and rule for 1000 years. Then the great white throne judgement will happen. Those who love and know God will be with him in the new Jerusalem. Those who reject God will be thrown in the lake of fire. Satan and death first, then the rest.

Rapture, and dispensational theology is the manufactured heresy of John Darby from 1830. 1 Thess says we will meet Jesus as he is coming. We will see the master coming and join with him as he is arriving on earth.

The Rapture is when Hod tells Jesus to go get His bride the church, that is us believers who are still alive here on earth, as 1 Thessalonians 4:17 tells us that we will be “caught up together with them (that is the dead in Christ) to meet Him in the air, this is the rapture of the Christ the bride of Christ. Rapture is to be caught up by the Lord. Second Coming is when Christ returns to the earth with His saints and sets up His k1,000 year kingdom on the Earth.

There’s some debate on this. What I believe is they are two separate events. The rapture occurs at the beginning of the 7 year great tribulation. The second coming occurs at the end of the tribulation.
In the rapture where the dead in Christ are raised and those who are alive go up and meet Jesus in the air. Jesus does not come all the way down to the earth in the rapture. In the second coming Jesus actually steps foot on the earth on the Mt. Of Olives, splitting in two.

This is one of prophecy’s greatest misconceptions. The Rapture and the Second Coming are often confused, but they are distinct events, with distinct purposes, on God’s prophetic timeline.
At the Rapture, Jesus will return for His saints.

However, the Bible says that “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1), which suggests the Church will not experience God’s judgment during the Tribulation.
Seven years after the Rapture, Jesus will return to earth in the event known as the Second Coming. His return will be entirely different from His arrival in Bethlehem as a humble Child. When Christ returns, He will appear as the exalted King of the universe, surrounded by His saints. The powers of evil will be quickly defeated at the Battle of Armageddon, and then Christ will establish His everlasting kingdom on earth.

One difference:you can’t now the day or hour of Reverse Pentecost (aka the Rapture) while you can calculate the day of the Second Coming Proper, once the Great Tribulation begins.

They are two completely different events. The Second Coming of Christ is when Jesus comes to THIS earth and rules it as a one world king for 1000 years with Jerusalem as his capitol city. This is most directly referred to in Revelation 20 and is in its chronological places. Everyone in the whole world will SEE Jesus and be ruled by him as he is the one world king. The rapture is very different. Jesus takes the people that are part of his bride, his church OUT of this world. No one sees Jesus. No one sees people go. But they are instantly gone. It is less clear when it happens. The Bible says no one knows the day or the hour. So it appears it could happen at any time BEFORE Revelation 4 vision comes to fruition. To me, it makes more sense that there may be no rapture before the second coming. The Bible tells us that we will have trouble in this world and the highest honour is to die for Christ. Should we, comfortable modern Christians have to endure and suffer through some horrific future events, it would come as no surprise to me. People all throughout History have died in martyrdom for Jesus sake. The best thing to do is to spend our time focusing on God and trusting Him with every moment, grow closer to Him and utilize what we have with the time we have.
Ps. Did you know that the word Rapture literally means to be overtaken with intense Joy? ❤ And that’s how we should truly feel, on some level, if we honestly know Jesus. Especially when we have a sense that our time is growing short. -

There is no rapture but there is a second coming of Jesus in glory and then He shall judge both the living and the dead. I’m sorry for all of those pitiful “believers” who are waiting for their great escape from tribulation and tumult since God always brings His people through such things instead of removing them from such things.
