On July 18, 1875, former Church of God General Overseer Flavius Josephus Lee was born in Polk County TN. He was filled with the Spirit and joined the Church of God during a 1908 tent revival. Seen here with his wife, Eva, Lee also served as pastor, state overseer, and Bible Training School president. Stricken with liver cancer in 1928, his family encouraged him to resign as general overseer. Lee confidently replied, “God will take care of me until He is through with me here.”
