A Message on Giving and Missionaries
A Message on Giving and Missionaries
from David M. Griffis, General Director of Church of God World Missions
As we contemplate the many challenges facing our entire world as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, many have expressed concern about our Missionaries, Missions Workers and our World Missions staff. This concern is well placed, sincere, and much appreciated as a genuine expression of love for all that World Missions represents.
First of all, we need your intercessory prayer for our personnel and diverse works around the world. To be covered by the prayers of the church is the greatest protection available to family of God.
Secondly, we hope you will continue to give and honor your personal financial commitments to any mission project you sponsor, you that have been blessed by God and are financially able to do so. It is a great Biblical concept and truth that “When we reach out…God reaches in.” He has said in His eternal Word, “Give and it shall be given unto you.”
Though we have honored our Executive Leadership’s directive to close our offices temporarily, due to the CDC Virus Guidelines, our staff is working, both at home and for a few hours weekly, to process donations and to assist anyone who needs help and assistance. We can also be reached through email and our website.
Finally, though many of our career missionaries and institutions have fallen into deficit in their donor accounts, I and Dr. Propes, along with our World Missions Board and leadership, are committed to pay all of them their regular monthly allotments with no reduction whatsoever. As time goes by, and the situation improves, it is our hope that all financial matters will be dramatically improved by God’s goodness, favor and the generosity of God’s people. We have seen in many instances God even impress non-Christians to give to missions and the cause of Christ. He is still Lord of all.
God has all things under His control. He is eternally Sovereign and as the Psalmist so powerfully declared…”Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” Psalms 23:4
May God bless and keep you in His loving care and may God continue to bless Church of God World Missions.
