  1. Wesley Dover says:

No, but the concept is there. Theologians afterward just gave the concept a name. Same with the Rapture.

  2. Tom Franklin says:

No. The doctrine of the trinity was a later doctrine which was was created to best explain Christ’s relationship with God the father. Christ both portrayes himself as God, but claims to be in complete unity with God the father. Thus, the doctrine of the trinity is akin to a scientific theory used to explain something.

A similar question would be, can you show the bible verse that says Lucifer and satan are the same person?

  24. Hans Krug says:

Whether a word is in the Bible or not doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Sometimes we invent words to describe concepts in the Bible.

  25. Anil George says:

Not the word ‘Trinity’, but the concept of Trinity, is there in the Bible

  26. Alicia M. Vermillion says:

The word trinity is not in the Bible yet the truth of the concept is. It is the word we use to describe the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Hundreds of scriptures from Genesis to Revelation show this truth. Jesus shares equality with God and the Holy Spirit shares equality with God. They were all present in creation, the affirmation of Jesus ministry, and our salvation.

  36. Mark S. Phillips says:

The word Bible isn’t in there, either.

  37. Davies David says:

    No

  38. Rodel Amporias says:

Definitely No! For the this is the creed or stament of faith made by Church Fathers because of the continues rejection of the humanity and divinity of Jesus; and the person and divinity of Holy Spirit since 100 A.D. after the death of the asposltes to 400-500 A.D.

Because of these crystal clear biblical evidences that Father is God, Jesus is God (Hebrews 1:8, John 1:1-2, 18, Romans 9:5, Phil 2:5, Col 2:9, 1 Timothy 17, and Holy Spirit is God (Job 33:4 and Acts 5:3-4.

The Father is Amighty, the Son is Almighty (Revelation 1:8) and the Holy Spirit is Almighty (Job 33:4)

In the Old Testament, the presence of three divine persons is evident. When the Father said, let us created man in our image and likeness, he is pricisely talking to the Holy Spirit Job 33:4 and the Son, Hebrews 1:10, John 1:3.
Another example of distinct divine persons is written in Psalm 110, the lord (Yahweh Elohim) said to my Lord (Adonai). And Jesus claimed that David saw him and called him Lord. Matthew 22:45.

Therefore, the church Fathers made a creed or statement of faith that summarise the equality of divine nature and destinctiveness of three divine persons. So that, church will be protected from others sects who rejected the humanity and divinity of Jesus; and the person and divinity of the Holy Spirit.
This is called Trinity, from the Greek word trias means three and Latin Trinitas means threefold.
Therefore trinity simply means, the united Godship of three divine persons/beings who are co-equal in power and self-existent.

  46. Benhur says:

it is an eternal constant attribute of God. ABSOLUTE. It doesn’t need to be seen or written to be acknowledged. Just as people try to find the word ‘RELATIONSHIP’ in the Bible. For example, Jesus is God who became human, did they need to write down the amount of times Jesus inhaled or exhaled? (Because He took form of a human)

  76. Anthony Delmedico says:

Not stated. Its demonstrated within scripture. If it were plainly stated, skeptics would claim that the authors were bias, invoking dogma.

Rapture isn’t there by word also but the Bible points to both

The word Bible isn’t in the Bible, do we disregard it all together? Of course not. The word Trinity is not in the Bible, but the doctrine of the Trinity is very clearly in the Bible. You see it in Genesis 1:1. Not our fault you don’t understand what the deep meanings of the Bible contains.

  82. Darrell Hendricks says:

The word Trinity is not in the bible but the concept is very clearly enunciated. God has revealed Himself as Three distinct separate Persons sharing One Divine Nature.

  83. Bobby Gonzalez says:

    No, but plenty of evidence.

Won’t find child molestation in there either but plenty of evidence that it’s wrong.

  84. Jack Hickman says:

    Word not, concept you

  85. Nathan Beech says:

No, but the concept is certainly there

  86. Nishan Thapa says:

Word bible comes from greak biblia which means collection of books. Instead of word Bible we can use word the Word of God.

  87. Herb Van Schoick says:

Many theological words are not found in the bible and yet we find them very useful.

  88. Rob Williams says:

Ok, this is too big of an issue to be answered here. To explore both sides of the issue I recommend On God and Christ by Gregory of Nazianzus and the Oneness of God by David Bernard. Gregory defines the orthodox view and Bernard is a contemporary modalist, who’s concept of the nature of God is different enough from ancient modalists, that he cannot be called a heretic

  89. James Clary says:

Nope, but it is definitely implied

  90. Jeffrey M. Tollison says:

Nowhere. Neither is the word Bible in the Bible. But both the Trinity and Bible are described in ways that later gave rise to their names.

    No,
Even the word “Bible” is not find in the Bible.

Is the word Bible in the Bible?

Is the word bible in the Bible?

  96. Aina Oluwaseun says:

    1st John 5: 7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

  97. Jay Zeke Malakai says:

    No, but the concept is.

Think of it this way: what animal am I describing? It’s got a very thin tail that dangles downwards. It’s a quadruped, with long, thin legs. It’s extremely tall, has a long neck, and it’s covered in big, brown spots.

Notice, I never said the word. I’m still not going to. Let’s just see how many people can guess. If people can guess what I’m describing based on the description, that means the word “Trinity” isn’t needed.

  98. Orakaaga Emmanuel says:

    Same goes for Rapture

  99. Dale de los Santos says:

There is no trinity word in the bible yet they are being described and interpreted on it

  100. Quarmie Adu says:

The word Trinity is not found in the Bible but the persons that make up the Trinity are. The word Rapture is not in the Bible but the concept is…even the word Bible is not in the bible…

  101. Lorenz Labang says:

Trinity is a false doctrine from RC

  102. Bob Leyenaar says:

Not literally the word trinity. But obviously the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are what it’s all about.

  103. Sean Mixon says:

The trinity is a summary name for the nature of God taught in the new testament.

Many muslims argue fallaciously that if a word isn’t found in the Bible, then the teaching must not be there as well. This is like arguing that since the word ‘gravity’ isn’t found in nature then gravity must not exist either. We can give names to teachings. Another example is that muslims believe the new and old testament to be about Allah, but ‘Allah’ isn’t found in the Bible. Thus, according to their logic, the bible must not teach about Allah.

  104. Judah Orpheus says:

Yes there is made references, it’s theological to call God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Sprit… the triune God head. Or the trinity, made reference in the Old Testament and in the New Testament.

  105. Carlos Sotelo says:

So what that it isn’t? The principles and ideas of the Trinity are mentioned.

  106. Dustin Whitaker says:

No, but the idea of the Trinity is clearly taught in the Bible. Bible doesn’t mention spanking, oral sex or credit cards but those subjects are covered well

  107. Dustin Whitaker says:

    Living in debt is…

  108. Dustin Whitaker says:

The reality of the triune God is self-evident in the original Hebrew from Genisis 1

  109. Johnhus Kipgen says:

You cannot draw every theology from the literal words but you can draw from the concept. Especially revelation is the very need in Christian Theology. Because revelation is the discourse of God to mankind. Through that revelation the word Trinity is coin.

  110. Zach Payne says:

No, but the triune nature of God is in the whole scriptures

  111. Russell Wiggins says:

In case no one mentioned it, the word “Bible” isn’t in the Bible either. Now how ironic is that ?.

    John 10:30
    Chapter Parallel Compare
30 I and the Father are one.”
    Luke 1:35

    1st John 5:7&8
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

  117. Bob Hawkins says:

Refuting a doctrine because a word is absent is not an effective exegetical. Think about it this way. Does the word “potato” appear in the Bible? It does not. So, maybe we should avoid them.

  118. Rohn Timm says:

Proper Bible study is to include things that are IN the Bible and NOT things that are out of the Bible or from carnal reasoning.

  119. Jeremiah Kwan says:

No. But the Idea is there. Just like the Word Rapture, but the phenomenon is described in there too.

  120. Rimbuez Rumirez says:

Directly…no , but yes in meaning, for instance..Gen 1:1-3. Mat 28:19-20, and when Jesus baptized.

  121. Bright Gift says:

    GOD IS ONE

  122. Bright Gift says:

TRINITY IS MANS CARNAL PERSONIFICATION OF GOD.

    GOD IS SPIRIT

HE HAS THREE NAMES, NOT THREE FORMS.

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.

Just as we all have three names but are one

  123. Brian Lally says:

3 Persons 1 Godhead. Christ Himself is 1 person with 2 natures man without sin and God clothed in flesh He is Not The Father from whom He came and neither The Spirit which is a gnostic idea. All 3 are separate and manifestly GOD. Let US make man in OUR image.

  124. Chris Westerman says:

No. The word “trinity’ is not in the Bible. The Bible says God is ONE.

  125. AJ Bernard says:

No. But the concept of Trinity is all throughout the Bible.

  126. Chris Westerman says:

“I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus.” -Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was a monotheist who opposed evil logic and religious persecution. Jefferson opposed Trinitarians because they murdered “heretics” who they could not persuade with scriptures. Jefferson’s quotes make him appear to be more of a Christian than his critics.

Thomas Jefferson said: The Trinity is “an unintelligible proposition of Platonic mysticisms that the three are one and one is three; and yet one is not three and three are not one. I never had sense enough to comprehend the Trinity and it appeared to me that that comprehension must precede assent.”

“When we have done away with the incomprehensible jargon of the Trinitarian arithmetic, that three are one and one is three, when we shall have knocked down the artificial scaffolding, reared to mask from view the simple structure of Jesus, when, in short, we shall have unlearned everything which has been taught since his day, and got back to the pure and simple doctrines he inculcated, we shall then be truly and worthily his disciples, and my opinion is that if nothing had ever been added to what flowed purely from his lips, the whole world would at this day have been Christian.”

  127. Chris Westerman says:

Isaac Newton was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher
    and alchemist,1
regarded by many as the greatest figure in the history of science. In optics,
he invented the reflecting telescope and argued that light is composed of particles. In
mathematics, Newton shares the credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the development of
calculus. Newton’s laws of motion and universal gravitation are taught in every physics
classroom. He said, “Gravity explains the motions of the planets, but it cannot explain who
set the planets in motion. Yahweh2
governs all things and knows all that is or can be
done.”3 His scientific fame notwithstanding, Newton’s study of the Bible and of the early
Church Fathers was among his greatest passions. One Church doctrine Newton would not
accept was the doctrine of the Trinity. In England, denying the doctrine of the blessed
Trinity was a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment.
Isaac Newton (1643-1727) wrote more on the Bible than he did on natural science; two
and one-half million words.4 He said, “I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the
Word of Yahweh, written by those who were inspired. I study the Bible daily.”5 Newton
tested and investigated the Words of Yahweh with the scientific method of observing,
hypothesizing, and testing. To Newton, his scientific and religious experiments were one
and the same, observing and understanding how the world functioned. Newton saw
Yahweh as the Master Creator, whose existence could not be denied in the face of the
grandeur of all creation. “He being a fellow of the college named Trinity, turned to
Christian theology with the same sleepless fervor he brought to alchemy. He started a
    notebook, writing Latin headings atop the folios: Life of Christ; Miracles of Christ;
Passion, Descent, and Resurrection…The topics that most absorbed his interest were the
relation of Yahweh and Christ, the Father and the Son, and most of all, De Trinitate, Of
the Trinity. Here he swerved into what the Church would call heresy. He abjured this
central dogma being taught by the Church: three persons in one Godhead, holy and
undivided. He denied the divinity of Yahshua and of the Holy Spirit.”6 Newton wrote to
John Locke, who was a kindred spirit in the dangerous area of anti-Trinitarianism, the
subject treatises on the “corruptions of Scriptures.

  128. Ariel Rollepa says:

So as BIBLE is not in the bible…

  129. Rohn Timm says:

Trinitarian denominations also aren’t in the Bible because it’s all the work of the flesh.

  130. Maribel B. Krause says:

My question for you Nishan Thapa, do you believe you are just a physical body?

  131. Maribel B. Krause says:

    Thanks?

  132. Herb Van Schoick says:

No there is not. America is not found in the bible I suppose it doesn’t exist.

  133. Rohn Timm says:

John M Soulliere yet, no Apostles ever baptized using Matthew 28:19. ALL the Apostles baptized using Acts 2:38; including Matthew.

  134. John Gardiner says:

Trinity is a human created technical term for the person of God. As Wayne Grudem surmised in his Systematic Theology: “Trinity tells us that all of God’s attributes are true of all three persons, for each is fully God.”

  135. Andrew White says:

Jesus prayed to his Father “the only true God’
    Read John 17:3
Therefore Jesus is the highly exalted son of God, but not God himself.
Many well meaning people believe the doctrine of Trinity, but a careful reading of the Bible will show that this is not true doctrine.
    Read carefully.

  136. Rohn Timm says:

The Trinity is a pagan, polytheistic view all based upon manipulation and misinterpreted verses.

  137. Matthew Avstreih says:

Neither the word nor the concept are in the Bible. The Bible clearly teaches that God is one person – the Father. Jesus is the man messiah. The son of that one God.

  138. Ruben Jackson says:

Not the word but the actual doctrine is.

  139. Rene Angeles says:

    No: Is it biblical: Yes
