Some bible scholars who want the bible to speak about what they want it to say, have gone ahead to insert their interpretation in the Bible. These so calles scholars include the water baptizers who believe water washes away sin. Example of some verses ghat have been mutilates are 1John 5 :6 ” This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not [g]with the water only, but [h]with the water and [i]with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth”.

The GoodNews Bible says the followin:
Jesus Christ is the one who came with the water of his baptism and the blood of his death. He came not only with the water, but with both the water and the blood. And the Spirit himself testifies that this is true, because the Spirit is truth.
