Can believers individually read Scriptures and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit come to truth and unity in understanding of the Scriptures? What do you do when they disagree? Please give an example of where this is practically working out.

When who disagrees? If you have the Holy Spirit guiding you can’t go wrong.

Clearly the history of the church shows we need each othher to hold on to the truth. Paul rebukes church members, Christians regimularly who where going Sarah so there is a danger in individuals thinking that they know the truth alone by guidence of the spirit especially when they deviate from the concenssus of the faith. They mistake their own thoights for the leading of the spirit. The spirit does help us understand but we dare not deviate from the faith received.

In reading 1 Corinthians 13 we can see how important love is. How through love we can see no fault. And how love never fails.
Towards the end, Paul talks about how we are in this world. Not able to fully understand His ways. As being as a child. Then when we get to heaven we will put away childish things. We will have full understanding -
I am just asking for a very practical example of the OP. If it is true that an individual can read the scriptures and with the guidance of the HS come to truth why isn’t there 1 example of the Body of Christ displaying this somewhere Wouldn’t we expect a mass of Christians somewhere with one article of faith they all agree on (aka Truth) that the Holy Spirit has lead the m to? Instead we see 1000 of denominational splits and arguing and disagreement even on the what should be the clearest thing? How do I get saved?

Our personal feelings get in the way of truth. Scripture is never the issue. If each individual is willing to put them aside we could in truth agree because the Spirit isn’t giving different doctrines to us.

yes. and we do all the time, and when christians disagree on matter concerning scripture, we go to the scripture and discuss it.

just as Asbell said above/below this post people resist truth because of what they WANT it to say , ie pre-tribulation rapture they want to believe that we will be launched out of here so they believe it even against the scriptural evidence(emotion gets in way)

Simple, you go to the word of God and let Him tell you who is correct or incorrect.

All true bible believing Christian’s believe the essentials.
The essentials were laid out in the apostles creed and hold to the purity of the bible. It was formulated before the RCC started corrupting the church. If the was written by the RCC it would be 20 pages long and take 10 minutes to read and in the end you wouldn’t know if you could ever be saved.
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of Heaven and Earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried. 1

Yes absolutely. But that requires
A) they actually have the Holy Spirit
b) they read the scripture without biases they are taught by denominations or their modern hero’s -
First answer: No, given that the Holy Spirit doesn’t exist. (Up for debate, of course.)
Second answer: You’re basically stuck, but people do change their minds on such things, so just be inventive and try to build on some shared assumptions. You might reach some common ground in the end, but that doesn’t entail that you’ve got things right. If it turns out that God doesn’t exist, then you’ve got things wrong. -
Absolutely!!!! The first through the 3rd centuries had no New testament to preach from. Have an eye to see where God is working and an ear to hear is voice.

When you are sealed with the Holy Spirit that means something.
Scripture even tells us that we are taught by God.
In order to win you over, Christ came with direct and succinct teachings with parables so that Alll would understand and be able to make the right decision. But when people don’t respect God enough to hear His Son then they don’t obey so they are not sealed with The Spirit.??♀️
Then they wonder aimlessly through the Bible starting and random spots, like it’s a book of fortunes or something and that’s when folks, MOST FOLKS, never come to the truth. They sew scripture together like a quilt.

Although I r was large parts of the Bible including the entire NT, I’d never read it all. I am participating in a challenge to read the Bible in one year by reading 3 chapters a day. It has been doing well but I would say that if something did this with little understanding of Christianity it would be hard to think of the God of the OT as the same as the God of the NT. I admit I have wondered this myself although I know they are th same God.

No one else understands the bible, unless they know right division.

If disagreements, then not soundly understood by someone. Scripture has 1 meaning many applications. Time and study bring about proper understanding………..sometimes.

There can be no unity without a willingness to submit to God’s truth. That can only be done by hearing Him interpret the scriptures. But instead we refuse to humble ourselves to His will. Evidently, It’s easier to let the world have the authority to interpret scriptures than to humble ourselves under the Almighty.

They need a Pope to settle their disagreements? Nah, then we would need another Pope to interpret that Popes words. You go to the bible and let scripture correct the disagreements.

Yes, but… keep in mind that Satan knows the scriptures and attempted to use them in his temptations of Christ. He is the master deceiver and he has deceived many into twisting the scriptures. See TBN for examples.
