Stop! Go Directly to Reflection, Part 1

Stop! Go Directly to Reflection, Part 1

“There is no future in any job.  The future lies in the person who holds the job.”

_George W. Crane

Thesis: If you do not see it, whatever “it” is will not happen.  And the clearer you see it, the better the chance it will happen.

  • Leaders create the future.
  • Managers manage the future that the leader creates.
  • Followers experience the future that was created by the leader according to how well it is managed.

Mission: Before you do anything else towards having a “Happy New Year” stop what you’re doing and go directly to reflecting on what must happen for you to actually have a happy, fulfilling, and God-honoring 2024.

  • This is a timeless and on-going principle.  The first thing to do before beginning anything is take the time to clearly picture in your mind what has to happen for there to be a win.

Vision (What are the measurable deliverables that must happen for you to win?):

  • Answer the following question: What do I see?  (For my life, minister, assignment.)
  • The sad reality is that most people see little but vague shadows.  But what you see determine direction, directs resources, and can inspires others to follow.

Vital: Don’t be afraid to of desire/ambition.  Desire is the catalyst for life, for all change and improvement.

  • Psalms 20:4, May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your purpose.

  • Psalms 21:1-2, The king shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD;
And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips
    .

  • Psalms 37:4, Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Don’t surrender your desires and ambition to a false humility or low self-image, surrender your desires and ambition to God and let him perfect and sanctify them (and you) to His service.
