Two Women | Two Outcomes

This morning I read the devastating passage in Genesis 3 about the temptation and fall of Eve. It being the Christmas season I could not help but think about her distant daughter: Mary.
Both women had heard and knew the word of God. Eve ignored it and Mary obeyed. What a difference between the outcomes!
But I was also encouraged when I read the first great salvific passage in the Bible:
And I will put enmity
Genesis 3:15
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”
Even then, at Eve’s worst moment, God had a back up plan…
…and He has a backup plan for you and me as well.
It all starts with Jesus.
Celebrate Him this season and follow Him into a brand new year.
The ONE THING for today: Christmas started with a promise given a long, long time ago.
