Completing the Cycle

“Service and thanks go together.”

_Phillips Brooks, The Consolations of God

The self-centered selfish man expects no thanks.

But to ignore the many people around you daily who make your life better and not thank them is like sucking all the oxgyen out of the room and leaving the rest of the people to suffocate.

More importantly, to withhold thanks says far more about you than it does the quality of the service you receive.

To not notice other’s service to you is a sign of an unhealthy soul; to not care is a sign of a dying soul.

The ONE THING for today: Whether someone serves you for pay, duty, or love, recognizing those around you who make your life better and saying, “Thank you” completes the cycle. Don’t leave things undone today…

“Thank you” must come often from your lips.
