General Overseer G. Dennis McGuire Addresses the 72nd Church of God International General Assembly
Presiding Bishop G. Dennis McGuire’s address to the 72nd International General Assembly in 2008, “Walking in the Spirit and Maintaining Our Identity,” reminds hearers that a passion for the Word of God and for lost souls is in the Church of God’s DNA. We believe in Divine Healing, we are Pentecostals, and we are confident that Jesus will come again. General Overseer McGuire concludes, “It won’t be long…. Jesus Christ will come again. We weep for a Pentecostal outpouring of the Holy Ghost. We weep for salvation and healing. We weep for the Bible to be proclaimed in purity and power. But, we weep knowing that, “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5)…. God is pouring out His Spirit, and I’m looking for Christ’s return.”
The 72nd Church of God International General Assembly met August 4-9, 2008, at the Alamo Dome and Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Assistant General Overseer Raymond F. Culpepper introduces General Overseer McGuire.
