How to Become a Prayer Warrior: Part 1 :: By Keith Watts

This is the most urgent message I have ever preached in my ministry. This is the most urgent article I have ever written in my ministry. I have preached this message 3 times in the last 5 days. On Thursday, 2-27-25, I preached this message to a group of pastors worldwide in a Google Meet. The Lord came down and met with us preachers, and it was such a wonderful meeting. On Sunday at 2 pm, I preached this message at my church, Grace Baptist Church. Today, I preached this message on my YouTube channel. I believe what we need in our churches and ministries more than anything is true prayer warriors. The reason for the urgency is that the Lord Jesus is coming for his bride (The Church) soon. Time is running out to win precious souls for Christ.
Personal Testimony
I have been in the ministry for 31 years. Shame on me, but for the first 20 years, the weakest part of my ministry was my prayer life. I was too busy for the Lord. Weak preaching, weak teaching, weak soul-winning, weak ministry, weak daily walk with my precious Savior. During these 20 years, I was a pastor, Sunday school teacher, and Superintendent of the Roloff Home for Men in Corpus Christi. The Lord has forgiven me. Thank you, Jesus. My family and I moved to Georgia at the end of April 2014. It took three days to get there. I prayed all the way there, and I told the Lord I wanted to become a man of prayer. For the last 11 years, I have been studying on prayer from the Bible. I have over 20 messages on prayer on my YouTube channel. The next message on prayer is “Preacher and Christian, have you ever Fasted for 40 days?” (Lord willing)
I have some questions to ask you.
- Pastor, how many prayer warriors do you have in your church and ministry?
- Pastor, are you a Prayer warrior?
- Pastor, do you know how to train your church members to become true prayer warriors?
- Christian, are you a prayer warrior?
- Christian, do you want to become a prayer warrior?
- Pastor and Christian, you say that you’re a prayer warrior, but are you really a true prayer warrior?
Watch the message and read the article to find out the answers to these questions. Then I ask you to examine yourself to see if you’re a true prayer warrior. I believe what we need more than anything in our churches and ministries in America and across the world is TRUE PRAYER WARRIORS.
Many churches that at one time preached the truth and souls were being saved are either closed or false teaching has taken over these churches. So many churches across America Today are empty. We might ask the question, why? Some will say we are living in the last days; no one wants to hear the truth. I say the answer to this question is MOST PASTORS AND CHURCH MEMBERS ARE NOT TRUE PRAYER WARRIORS. THE MOST POWERFUL THING ON THIS EARTH IS THE PREACHING OF THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER WARRIORS COMING TOGETHER. Satan is scared to death of this. Are you a prayer warrior?
What would happen if:
- prayer warriors were on their knees in a room while the pastor was preaching?
- prayer warriors started fasting and praying at least one meal or for a day during the week for their pastor and family?
- prayer warriors fasted for a meal or a day for the next Sunday service?
- when the Gospel tracts came in, a group of prayer warriors prayed over the Gospel tracts?
- prayer warriors started praying for the church outreach program?
- there were prayer warriors at all Bible Colleges praying over the future pastors?
- the Bible Colleges started teaching how to become a true prayer warrior?
- the pastor and prayer warrior went into the church auditorium and prayed at the pew where the church members sit? We all know where everyone sits at every church service. (Do this when the church is empty.) Pastor, you need to be doing this to prepare for your messages.
Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
Luke 2:36 “And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;”
Luke 2:37 “And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.”
We need some Annas in our churches. She prayed and fasted NIGHT AND DAY. As true prayer warriors, we can be in an attitude of prayer. Even with a busy schedule, you can pray all day; you have to work at it. This is why I am saying there are very few true prayer warriors. It is hard work, but with the Lord’s help, we can become true prayer warriors. It is safe to say that Anna in the Bible was a true prayer warrior.
Text verses Exodus 17:8-16
Exodus 17:8 “Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.”
Exodus 17:9 “And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.”
Exodus 17:10 “So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.”
Exodus 17:11 “And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.”
Exodus 17:12 “But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.”
Exodus 17:13 “And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.”
Exodus 17:14 “And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”
Exodus 17:15 “And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:”
Exodus 17:16 “For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”
Verse 8: Amalek fought with Israel. The fight is on. When did this fight start? When Adam took a bite of the forbidden fruit. What is this fight all about? The fight is over lost precious souls. It is not about money, power, or land. It is always about lost souls. Satan has brought into this fight his game. We need to bring our A+ game into this fight – the Word of God and True Prayer Warriors. The spiritual battle is raging. We all know the next Scripture verse.
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
We know this verse and can even quote it, and yet we go into battle without any prayer warriors or being a prayer warrior ourselves. If you are in the ministry, you are aware of the spiritual warfare that is going on around us every moment of each and every day. You are aware of the attacks on your family and church family. Pastor and Christian, it is time to get serious about our prayer life. So many out there may be strong in reading the Word of God, but you’re so weak in your prayer life. We need both of them together.
I’m going to have to finish this article next week. In closing, I ask you to please watch the message and share it with as many pastors as you can. Listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit; He has something for you in this message. I never ask someone to share the messages, but this is so urgent of a message that it needs to go out all over the world. At the end of the message, I tell you from the Bible how to be a true prayer warrior.
On April 14, 2021, I started this Worldwide Prayer Movement. We have prayed, fasted, and repented for every nation for a day at least once. We have finished Africa twice, and next week, we will have finished Asia twice. The Lord is moving in this in a mighty way despite Satan fighting against it. Never in the ministry has Satan fought as he has with this Worldwide Prayer Movement. (My family needs much prayer for our safety.)

- Israel and all Jews around the world and on behalf of over 16.7 million precious Jews. (Pray for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s safety.)
Pastors, I ask you and your churches to please join us in interceding on behalf of all lost souls in the seven nations. We are trusting and believing that we are moving the heart of God. Thank you. Please post this on all media.
