I’ve got something I want you to pray about…

Sometimes I almost feel guilty.

A church is coming open and needs a pastor. It is my job to help them find the right pastor. But how am I to do that.

I pray, I reflect, I observe, I try to assess the different personalities and needs of the church with the personality and skills of a ministerial team. But in the end I have to make a call and I usually begin this way, “I’ve got something I want you to pray about.”

There they were…a good pastor, being faithful, doing their job and then suddenly everything changes.

But who am I to say “No” for other other people. That’s their job. It’s their job to pray and search their heart when change comes.

And the same is true for you.

When things change you may have to change your mind.

Not about everything, but about some things.

Be careful when saying, “My mind’s made up.”

God has people, some times the most unlikely people, whom He brings into your life to make you take another look and pray, and–who knows–maybe even change.

The ONE THING for today: Be willing to update your opinions and positions on things. The ability to change your mind is a sign that you’re still alive! And it is a sign that you’re willing to be obedient to God when He says, “It’s time for a change.”
