Loran Livingston on the Sovereignty of God; sovereignty is a big word and has many meanings. Livingston took it head on in an old broadcast that was aired on the Forward-in-Faith, COG program. I was surprised as it was not what I was taught at Lee nor at the other schools that I have attended. Here are some quotes that you can think on.
” There is not one person on this earth that God is not in control of.”
” If He is not in control of everything then he is not God at all.”
” The supreme court cannot do one thing without the approval of God.” He intimated that God sat on His throne and watched the slavery in our history and watched WWII and it’s great slaughter because it in some way fulfilled His purpose.
He used some of the poetic verses in Psalms to make his case, verses that I understand were never meant to be taken literally.
I must say that for every statement he made I could think of six to eight verses that would lead one’s thinking elsewhere. You can find this in the archives under sovereignty about 2012
