LOVE NEVER FAILS
GOD’S LOVE FOR US is the perfect example and is the beginning place for learning about and living in the love of God. There are also great verses about love in relation to marriage, brotherly love or friendship, and loving your neighbor!] “…we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor ANY POWERS, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, WILL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 8:37-39) [We stand faithful to the new covenant with our Abba Father; He is faithful who has promised to sustain us and make us MORE THAN CONQUERORS; to give us a complete victory over sin, and death, and hell, not leaving one enemy unrestrained.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS.” (1 Corin. 13:4-8) [The love for our Abba Father, and for neighbor for His sake, is patient towards all men: it suffers ALL THE WEAKNESS, ignorance, errors, and frailties of the children of God; and all the hatred and wickedness of the children of this world; and all this, not merely for a short time, but without end; for it should be our new nature, to the end of which trials, difficulties, etc., can never reach. It also waits for God’s time of accomplishing his gracious divine purposes, without murmuring or complaining; and bears its own frailties, as well as those of others, with humble submission to the will of God!] “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE.” (1 Corin. 13:13) [Without faith it is impossible to please God; and without it, we could not partake of the grace of our Lord Jesus: without hope we could not tolerate, not being able to see him who is invisible; nor have any satisfactory notion of the eternal world; nor bear up under the afflictions and difficulties of life: but as great and useful and essentially necessary as these are, yet love is greater: LOVE IS THE FULFILLING OF THE LAW; but this is never said of faith or hope!]
Be blessed as you praise The Lord, knowing that THE GREATEST OF THESE IS LOVE!
