Non Scriptural practices in the Church Polity

Non Scriptural practices in the Church Polity Part 1
Tenure: is the length of time or the period that the appointed person remains in the post.
If we go to the book of Acts chapters 1 and 2 and witness how the church was moving under the leading of the Holy Spirit, if the church had put tenure as part of church government, then after 2 or 4 or 6 years the apostles will be replaced by their disciples and by their spiritual children. Now with such God will be displeased because those who were anointed removed from their office that God had placed them. Beside that the apostles will be placed and they will be under those whom they taught.
With tenure the fathers of the church will be put aside and the younger instead will lead. The effect of that in the life of the church will be as the following:
I. Those over you will be no more your spiritual fathers who taught you.
II. The person over you had contributed nothing to you spiritually.
III. The person over you will be your boss as in secular work and in countries’ governments; for he or she is not whom God had placed over you.
IV. With such practice some will be climbing the structure of the church without the anointing of God and being out of His will.
Yes, I know that such is practiced by many denominations and big churches, but I don’t recall any example in the Scripture that speak about tenure. Removing anointed and pioneer leaders who laid the foundation of Christ and His Word in the church from their anointed offices is doing your own will, and putting aside the will of God. The Lord will not go with such and God will not shift the anointing to the next appointed leader according to the tenure.
David said: “The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.” (1 Samuel 24:6) What David meant here that God should remove Saul and that will be the way his tenure will be finished as we read here: “9 And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD’S anointed, and be guiltless? 10 David said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.” (1 Samuel 26:9-10) Judas Iscariot was replaced also after his death only, “For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.” (Acts 1:20) I am not saying here to tolerate corruption and those who abuse the office, but I am saying that Scripture does not recognize tenure as what is going on in the church today
By observing the rule of tenure, the church had removed the anointed fathers of the church and had replaced them by administrative workers, who are no more anointed fathers but bosses over ministries and church people, waiting to finish their tenure and leave the post.
The church had copied such practice from the governments that are instituted in the world, without going back to the Word of God and noticing that such practice is not there and that practice is the tradition of man. Even many they practice that but God’s Word does not permit us to do such.
It needs to reach an end. the more of it, the more deviation from the will of God. What can be done more?
1. Say it about tenure: It is non Scriptural.
2. Inform others about this truth and explain the bad effects of this practice.
3. Avoid such practice.
4. Continue to do your ministry in the spiritual office where God had placed you.
5. Pray to God to cleanse the church from such and set it free from such practice. Pray that God will raise up people who will work with Him to clean His church from such.
The church structure should be placed under the Word of God and not above it or bypassing it.
