Robert and Jeanette Cary’s 67th Wedding Anniversary
Robert and Jeanette Cary recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on May 28th, with festivities at Morningside of Cleveland, Tennessee.
This wonderful couple started their journey together at a church camp in Florida and married 11 months after meeting. Bob’s older two brothers were missionaries, and he soon followed suit. Between the three brothers are 135 years of combined missionary service. During their years on the mission field, the Cary’s visited more than 70 countries worldwide.
In an interview with the Cleveland Daily Banner, Cary explains his passion for the Great Commission, “The main components of the Great Commission are to preach and teach. If you take the first letter off preach – you are left with reach. You take the next letter off preach and you are left with each. Take the first letter off teach, and you are again left with each. You are to preach, teach and reach each soul for God.” He also shares his favorite scripture found in Titus 2:11, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” He continued, “If you take the first letter off grace, you have race. The gospel applies to every continent, every country, every color, every culture, and every creature. That is what I’ve tried to live by.”
To this day, they are still raising funds for missions, and since the first of this year, they have sent $30,000 to 23 countries, Indian reservations, and orphanages. What a blessing this couple is to the Kingdom of God!
