The One And Only :: By Nathele Graham
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Many people are under the erroneous idea that all roads lead to heaven. I’ve heard some very disturbing words come from pastors who don’t seem to believe Scripture. There is only one Saviour, and He is described in Scripture.
“In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:1-4).
That verse is full of information. The word was God. The Word is a title of Jesus. So, John tells us that Jesus was God. We also learn that He has existed from the beginning, and He created all things. He is life. He created life, and He sustains life. Not just life as in living our day-to-day life, but life as in eternal life through faith in His death, burial, and resurrection. This is something I can’t fully explain, but I believe it with all my heart.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
John was one of the men whom Jesus chose to be His disciple. John heard Jesus speak and saw the glorious things He did. Jesus healed the blind and lame, raised the dead, fed thousands, and cast out demons, not to mention He walked on water and forgave sins. John was an eyewitness and wrote the things he had seen. It was John who also recorded this truth.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). This is very important to understand. There is only one way to eternal life, and that Way is Jesus.
Many people who don’t understand Scripture try to say that it doesn’t matter what you believe because God loves everyone and wouldn’t send anybody to eternal damnation. That is true, but it’s not exactly correct in the interpretation. God does love everybody. He loves all of His creation. In fact, He loves us so much that He died for our salvation.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18).
We have a choice, and that choice is eternal. If you choose to reject Jesus, then you’ve condemned yourself. Jesus is the one and only way to salvation. You cannot work to earn that salvation, but faith is the key.
The secular world cannot truly understand because they aren’t indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Only Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and have the benefit of His wisdom and guidance. It seems that many people have put their faith in other secular humans or in cults that “sound” like Christians but aren’t rather than believing in the one and only Saviour. America has been in a very sad and sinful way for years. Our leaders have legalized many sinful things and still expect God’s blessings to flow. Christians finally turned to God and prayed for a reprieve from the sinful liberal agenda. The “silent majority” roared like a lion. God heard our prayers and answered in a way that should humble us before Him. Now we need to repent and turn from our wicked ways. The liberal candidates were mostly rejected by voters. The thing we must remember is that no man can do what Jesus does for us. He gives us eternal life. Again, we can turn to John to see what Jesus said about what He does and what Satan does.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
Satan wants nothing good for you and lies, cheats, and steals in order to destroy you. Jesus wants you to live with Him forever in Heaven. It’s your choice, and Jesus Christ is the one and only choice for eternal life. Don’t put your faith in a man. Americans seem to be on a Donald Trump revival, and I cannot deny that Mr. Trump will do wonders for the citizens of America. I do believe that if the liberals had won the election, America would have been destroyed and marched into history like many other nations before us. Now isn’t the time to stop praying. Pray for wisdom on the part of Mr. Trump.
“Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known” (Proverbs 14:330.
God’s wisdom is needed as Mr. Trump takes over the reins from Biden, who has left America in quite a mess. Sin has been glorified way too long in America, and it’s time for God’s wisdom to be honored.
When King David died, the rule over Israel was given to Solomon. He felt overwhelmed by the responsibility and asked God for wisdom.
“Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?” (1 Kings 3:9).
It was a huge responsibility for Solomon to rule over Israel. “And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing” (1 Kings 3:10).
Wisdom in leadership is essential, and Solomon may have been inexperienced as a king, but he knew what to ask the Lord for. God granted him wisdom, but as with any gift, what is done with that gift is up to the one who receives it. Solomon continued to rule over Israel, but he began making unwise choices. He married many pagan wives, which was wrong, and then he began to build pagan high places and to worship pagan gods. That was very, very unwise.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
I pray that Mr. Trump will focus on God’s wisdom and tear down the pagan high places of sin. Solomon is a good example of someone to whom God gave a great gift, but then he began to use that gift from God in ways that were opposed to God. Mr. Trump needs to see that God gave him a gift, and he needs to lead America to a closer walk with the one and only God of all creation. We need a true man of God to lead America.
We need to remember we are responsible for our own choices and never to put our trust in a man. We need to trust God and pray for God’s wisdom for Mr. Trump and blessings on America. On the other hand, we need to remember that there is only one Saviour, and He is Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.
God bless you all
