Truth: Many Claim It. Only One Could Name It :: By Dave Hubley
Please read the Special Message at the end of this article.
There is a sense of anticipation swirling around the world in these days.
For some, it is disconcerting. Things don’t have a feeling of “another day, another dollar.”
For many, it is an unidentifiable uncertainty. Long-range planning no longer carries the comfort that it will be realized at some point like it once did.
For many others, it is a fading hope that human government will be able to provide real “peace and safety,” and the sense that these things are, instead, only becoming more tenuous.
Many thought that the reelection of Donald Trump would bring that feeling of “peace and security” that they longed to have back, and so they placed all their hope in him.
For most, despite the election results, that disquieting feeling of an uncertain future is still hanging around in the corners of their minds, but instead of remaining safely parked there, the unease has moved from the corners and into the forefront.
So, many are looking for answers to this dilemma, and there are very many of those purported answers swirling around the world today.
Like an auto accident at a busy intersection where there are many eyewitnesses: when they are asked to give a report, no two of them are exactly the same. Each one claims to be accurate, but each testimony is different. In evaluating this, we can only draw one of two conclusions. Either everyone is wrong. Or only one is right. Once that reality has been acknowledged, the investigation can move forward.
The same reality applies to the search for an explanation for the unease and anxiety of the present day. People want to put their hope somewhere or in someone trustworthy.
Hope is only as good as who or what it is grounded in.
We can decide that everyone is wrong, perhaps because we are tired of everyone claiming to be the one that is right and in possession of “the truth,” so we wrongly decide that we can afford to just “wait and see” or we can seek to find the Truth and receive the peace that it provides. But that will fail if it is not driven by right motivations and a willingness to accept the results.
There are many “religions” in the world that claim to have the answer or “truth.” That includes the New World Order, the Globalists with their “wisdom,” and the frenetic, man-caused Climate Change chicanery. They are all religions in disguise.
Whether obvious on the surface or buried below it, they all share a common thread: You will have to “join up,” “work at it,” or some amalgamation of both in order to be accepted into whatever their orthodoxy postulates as truth. Shifting sand.
That is where all man-made “religions” ultimately lead, but there is an alternative, and it is like the one accident report that is true, but it is not a religion at all.
It is a Relationship between the One and Only God and any person who is earnestly and honestly seeking to know the Truth.
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
Truth has a Name, and that Name is Jesus Christ. The Name above all names.
What makes Jesus Christ, and therefore Christianity, the only Truth? After all, many others say they have the truth as well and claim that there are many paths to God.
Only the Eternal God of the Bible has given prophecies about the many events He had predestined to take place hundreds or, in many cases, thousands of years into the future and then ensured that they did take place at their proper time and in the tiniest detail. That includes His Son, the One and Only Redeemer for all who would believe in Him.
Thus far, in God’s timing, they have been fulfilled, but God is not yet done.
No “religion” dares to provide predictive prophecy because they cannot do anything but guess and be wrong or, if they are close, it is by accident. Close is only that: close.
There is an old saying: “close but no ceegar!” It means not good enough. You weren’t completely accurate – so you don’t receive the prize. There is no room for almost.
That and the total absence of Grace, real Mercy, real Love, and real Forgiveness are another plumb line that defines and separates this Relationship from man-imagined religion.
Only the One true God loves us enough to tell us the Truths we need to hear. If you truly want to know Truth, and seek it with your whole heart, consider the simple logic of these Truths that God has provided to anyone who is willing to listen:
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23) Emphasis added.
If you are willing, go look in a mirror and ask yourself, “Am I perfect, and have I never sinned?” I believe you will get your answer. I did, and the Truth set me free.
Now to the crux of this article.
God tells us the Truth in the above verses.
He knew we would sin, but He created us anyway. We sinned just like He knew we would. We fell under the penalty of death just like He said we would.
But then, at His appointed time, He sent His Son, Jesus, who willingly stretched out His arms, assumed our guilt, and allowed Himself to die in our place. The Father suffered right along with Him. That is how much He loves us. But He was and is not yet done.
You have likely seen or heard this a thousand times. Perhaps that is the point.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Maybe this time (John 3:16) seems closer to that Truth that you have been searching for. Perhaps if you haven’t been searching, you’ll get the sense that you should. Then maybe you might open the door to Him and the eternal life he offers (Revelation 3:20).
When Jesus had paid the full price for our salvation, He said for anyone who has ears to hear: “Tetelestai” – It Is Finished. Then He died. And that part was finished. But God was not yet done.
Three days later, He rose from death to life, just as He promised. The final proof that He is who He said He is and that Truth really does have a Name.
“Death has been swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54).
That action confirmed the reality of the Truth that Jesus had indeed conquered death.
“No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father” (John 10:18) Emphasis added.
It was all part of God’s plan from the beginning, and it is all summed up in a simple statement by Jesus Himself:
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
It’s up to you to believe, and if you accept the Truth, turn from sin and self, and turn to God, then your search is over, and the Adventure can begin. With the weight of sin removed, eternal life becomes real. Jesus is knocking (Revelation 3:20).
The special message I promised you:
You can have hope. You can have the peace that Jesus has promised to all who have made Him their Lord and Savior. The peace that passes understanding.
It requires that you come before God on His terms and that you do so in your living years.
And, what are His terms according to His Word?
- Genuine repentance (turning to God instead of continuing to reject or ignore Him).
- Confession of sins (that you are a sinner and acknowledge that to God).
- That you understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23).
- To acknowledge to God that you are unable to pay that debt.
- Belief that Jesus Christ paid your death sentence for you on the cross and rose from the grave three days later, conquering death, just as He promised.
- To believe that Jesus is the Way, the only Way, that God has established by which humans may be saved from the consequences of their sin and rebellion.
God has made it absolutely clear that there is no one who comes before Him, under His terms, that will be refused.
- No one: no race, no color, no country of origin, regardless of any previous belief system: no one.
- No matter what your past sins have been, God can and WILL forgive you because He says He will.
- Salvation is available to everyone without any exceptions.
If you put all your trust for salvation in Jesus, and Him only, you can follow that prayer up by simply saying, “Thank you, Father God, for hearing my prayer and saving me,” because we can trust Him to keep His Word. He always has. He always will.
“Truly, Truly, I say to you that he who hears My words and believes the One who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned. He has crossed from death to life” (John 5:24).
There are no answers and there is no hope in the world by governments, organizations, politics or politicians. There are only lies and deception. But you can have the Truth and the peace you seek.
The answers are in the Word of God—The Bible. If you ask God, with all your heart, He will hear you.
“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
