When you feel bad

“Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.” ― William Goldman

*****

Don’t make not feeling bad your goal.

Receiving wise constructive criticism from someone who truly cares for you feels bad.

Surgery feels bad.

A stroke feels bad.

Changing a flat tire feels bad.

Taking an exam feels bad.

Failure feels bad.

But running from your pain, getting angry or hurt about it, making excuses and trying to justifying your failure, or putting the blame on others achieves nothing.

Instead, embrace the pain and use those feelings to fuel your passion to do better next time.

Bottom line, it is almost impossible to make progress without seasons of feeling bad.

The ONE THING for today: Don’t make not feeling bad the goal. Make making progress the goal–no matter how it feels.
