“Judge of All the Earth”
Just a portrait I took of dark winter woods on a bleak, cold December morn, and yet for some strange reason, I was reminded of my mother’s favorite scripture as I viewed it. Mom often quoted it to we four children growing up, especially when we were faced with those unanswered questions that life has a way of producing. The scripture was found in Genesis 18:25, and it is the words of Abraham, God’s friend and the father of the faithful, who said, “Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
I guess the dark woods reminded me that God does right by giving winter and rest to the earth, and brings the resurrection of life in the spring, the fruit of the earth in summer, and crowns it with beauty and ripeness in the autumn.
And so…if the “Judge of all the earth will do right,” then we His faithful children, must accept His judgements in all matters, even if those judgements are not what we might wish for.
The righteous “Judge of all the earth” would not let Pharaoh slay innocent babies without judging his empire with many plagues and much death. The righteous “Judge of all the earth” would not let Herod kill the innocent toddlers and baby boys of Bethlehem without destroying him and eventually his entire dynasty and kingdom. He will not allow a nation to abort and murder scores of millions of little innocent babies either.
The righteous “Judge of all the earth” would not blindly stand by and allow the sexual perversity and unsaturated deviance of Sodom and Gomorrah, nor Babylon, nor Greece, nor Rome or any other nation or empire continue without their annihilation. He will not let America mock God in her perversity.
Finally, the “Judge of all the earth” will not be forgotten without dire consequences upon those who choose to forget Him. “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalms 9:17
Now I fully realize this posting is sobering, and there are many who do not want such truth to be brought forth. But too long in America, we have preached to make people feel good. The watchmen have failed to cry out, and a nation stagers like a drunken man toward destruction. It is now time, high time, to “seek the Lord while He may be found.” The end drawers near.
Good news….” The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.” Psalms 34:15
