When you hit a whiteout
“We can only see a short distance ahead, but we can see plenty there that needs to be done.”

During my years of living in the beautiful but dangerous Dakotas I drove through several snow storms.
One of the most frightful things to do is to keep driving as the snow piles up and the road disappears.
But even more frightening is when you have to drive through a white out.
A white is where the wind and snow are so severe that you can’t see anything (and I mean anything) in front of you.
You can’t stop because if you do someone may come up behind you and hit you.
You can’t pull over because you don’t know what’s there.
So what do you do?
You grip the stirring wheel tightly with both hands, whisper a prayer and keep going.
That’s what you do.
And that’s what you do when you don’t have vision in other area of life.
No vision for your life?
No vision for your ministry?
Career?
Marriage?
Here’s what you do…you keep going.
Keep showing up.
Keep making the wisest choice you know to make.
Keep doing what is right.
Whiteouts don’t last forever.
And even while you’re going through them you’re still moving forward.
The ONE THING for today: Having a vision for your life is extremely helpful, but it is not necessary. What is necessary is to keep moving forward until you do get more clarity.
