I’ve lived long enough now to have seen several members ( are at least adherents ) in the COG die without insurance, this often throws the larger family off budget, especially so if there has been large medical costs leading up to the death. My home COG had a motorcycle death recently and the young man had no insurance, it put a real burden on his family. Burial insurance is very inexpensive when purchased at an early age.
At the same time the church where I go now, it seems that everyone is well insured, some leaving $ 5,000.00 and more to the church. Others leaving enough to give their grandkids a good education. There is something about our emphasis on the rapture that leaves us unprepared for the certainty of death here on earth.
