A man letting his hair grow grow long and a woman cutting her hair short is like a divorce. People are going to do it anyway and defend their actions as “God approved”! It is due to the hardening of the heart!

The Church of God has dropped it’s beliefs about hair and divorce.
At least there is no preaching against such views.

  1. Why are you so concerned about hair? It just seems like there are so many more important things to be concerned with.

What about women who lose their hair to chemo? Is that a dishonor?

  2. Charles Page says:

If the Bible hadn’t addressed this we wouldn’t be having this discussion. I stand by the Scriptures.

  3. This is very legalistic and pharassee and 1950 of you talking about hairstyle what’s next, beards?

  4. The C O G holds no concerns about living Holy any more, Like it was founded upon. by those that set up the church by laws, no more than the United States has stood upon the founding fathers by laws and constitution, Those in power in that day believed in God, now miss Hillary says Christians must deny their faith in Christianity, That being said, the law of the land saying homosexuality is ok many ministers are saying God condones marriage man to man women to women That junk is against Gods laws, is it any wonder in your mind that there is such a falling away from God, when the CO G has become cruise -o mattic , looking like the world, acting like the world, marrying as many spouses as you want , smoking a little weed if you want, chew all the tobacco you can, drinking socially, blowing smoke in peoples eyes spitting tobacco juice on some toes, telling them thy can repeat this sinners prayer after them and declare them they are born again. I was told I fell off of the bus, that’s what new day think about us old timers. Boy will they be glad when we all die off.

  5. Mighty judging of you to say the WHOLE COG has no concerns about living holy! In fact your dead wrong! I am a Bishop in the COG and I live holy ! According to GODS word not according to some legalistic rules MAN came up with that was rejected by the denomination! Stupid rules about swimming together or watching a movie or drinking soft drinks! Or hairstyle or shave! When the dictates were in place COG was small now it is huge! Reaching the lost in all the world not just in podunk Tenn, or left behind Alabama. Lead, follow or get out of the way. Times to short for going back to Egypt.

  6. Jackson that makes sense to me…….

  7. Link Hudson says:

The Bible does not say it is a sin to have long or short hair. But it says that a man who puts away his wife, except it be for fornication, and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries her who is put away commits adultery.

  8. Jordan Crane says:

This is ridiculous. I cannot believe that this conversation is taking place. I thought the COG was rid of these man-made rules and legalistic ways. I mean, I know for the most part that it is. But people like these gentlemen give us, as COG members, a bad rep. I’m so happy and proud to be a current COG minister and can’t wait to see what’s in store for our denomination.

  9. Link Hudson says:

Charles Page, what if people posted pictures of your wife on the forum and commented on her hair length?

  10. John Weeks says:

Mr. Page , you teach from the law constantly. You need to realize when Christ came we moved to Mount Zion from Mount Siani. Our sins are covered under Jesus’ blood . There are times we fall down ,but Jesus is always there to remind us that are still the “righteousness of God in Christ “. When a person realizes there is NOTHING more he or she can add to the Righteousness of God that has been so fully and freely given to us, a person doesn’t want to ” sow wild oats” and the tattoos and hair length don’t matter.

  11. John Weeks says:

What matters is our hearts and our love of our Lord and others around us. Not our judgements of others. The Holy Spirit will tell one whether to move on from someone or not. Etta Weeks
